Flowers-and-birds painting is one of the categories that focus on spirit of freehand brushwork in the history of development of Chinese painting.Freehand brushwork of flowers-and-birds painting sprouted in the five dynasties,its flourished in the Song dynasty and thrived in the Ming dunasty.There are many famous expert not only in the field of freehand,but also in the field of Small freehand brushwork.Painted pottery,porcelain,bronze wares lively patterns of flowers and birds,colorful flowers and birds in the murals,paintings to the exquisite flower and bird modeling in the literati paintings,the decorative aesthetic has always been reflected in Chinese flowers-and-birds painting,and it has significant influence for contemporary freehand flower and bird paintings.In today's freehand brushwork flower and bird painting world,due to the change of artistic trends and marketization of art,or sense of worth from foreign influences.Traditional ink and brush forms and techniques could no longer fully satisfy the spiritual and cultural needs of the contemporary people.Contemporary artists,on the basis of inheriting traditions,they are close to their real lifes,constantly making innovations,and finally making new contributions.In freehand brushwork flower and bird painting subject matter content and the expression method has broadened the traditional painting standard,will the modern technique into the traditional brush and ink,in the color,the composition and the modelling all present the unique decoration esthetic feeling.From the perspective of the development history of flower-and-bird painting and the influence of foreign culture on the contemporary Chinese painting world,this paper combs the reasons for the decorative nature of contemporary freehand brushwork,and analyzes the artistic characteristics of decorative language in freehand brushwork.Focusing on decorative language in contemporary freehand brushwork flowers and birds in the development of the application and to my graduation creation of the impact and inspiration.In conclusion,through the research and study of decorative language in the works of freehand brushwork flowers and birds,draw on the old experience in the background of the new era,close to life that combined with personal emotion,forge ahead,create contemporary freehand brushwork with a sense of the times.
