Abundant classifier is one of the most important features of modern Chinese,and it is also one of the key points and difficulties of teaching Chinese as a second language.This thesis mainly selects the shape classifier which is representative in the individual classifier as the object of our study.Both Chinese and Thai belong to the Chinese-Tibetan language family.and the Thai also has abundant shape classifier,but there are similarities and differences between the two language in terms of semantics and grammar.This thesis mainly carries on the contrast research of Chinese and Thai shape classifier through the following several aspects.First of all,we make a synchronic analysis of Chinese and Thai shape classifiers.There are similarities and differences in semantic aspects of Chinese and Thai shape classifiers.We make a contrastive analysis of semantic categories and collocation rules of Chinese and Thai shape classifiers with the relevant knowledge of cognitive theory and probes into the reasons behind their similarities and differences.Semantics is the embodiment of objective objects in language.The objective objects corresponding to the semantics of Chinese and Thai shape classifiers have some similar characteristics.However,because people are influenced by the natural environment,living standards and cultural customs of language groups when they perceive objective objects,the semantics of each language contain a certain amount of National characteristics.Then,we make a contrastive analysis on the grammar of Chinese and Thai shape classifiers.The comparative analysis is mainly from three aspects,namely,the word order of the shape classifiers,the ability to act as syntactic component in the sentence,and the overlapping.We first discuss and analyze the similarities and differences in word order between Chinese and Thai shape classifiers phrases.The biggest difference in the word order between Chinese and Thai classifiers phrases is that the numeral-classifier structure of Chinese is placed in front of the central word,and the numeral-classifier structure of Thai comes after the central word.Then we analyze the ability of Chinese and Thai shape classifies phrases to act as syntactic elements in sentences.The two have roughly the same ability to act as syntactic elements in sentences,but there are some differences in some minor aspects.Finally.We compare and analyze the grammatical meaning of overlapping Chinese and Thai shape classifiers and their ability to act as syntactic components in sentences..In comparison,the overlapping form of Chinese shape classifiers is more free and the ability to act as syntactic components is stronger.Finally,we analyze the errors in the acquisition of Chinese shape classifiers by Thai students and put forward some teaching suggestions.We classify the types of errors and analyze the causes of errors.We think that the main reasons for the errors are:the interference of mother tongue,the overgeneralization of target language,the negative transfer of culture,the influence of teaching and learning,and the complexity of Chinese shape classifiers itself.Then,based on the above analysis,we put forward some suggestions on the teaching of shape classifiers,mainly as follows:using prototype category theory in the teaching Chinese shape classifiers;strengthening the comparative analysis of Chinese and Thai shape classifiers,Forecasting the difficult;understanding education Characteristics in Thailand,flexible use of various teaching methods and more intensive practice,reviewing.
