On Su Tong's Novel Creation Since The New Century

Su Tong has been in the literary world since the late 1980s,and he has attracted extensive attention from critics and readers with his outstanding narrative skills and unique aesthetic style,still active in the literary world.In more than 30 years of his creative career,Su Tong has been involved in short,medium and long articles of various genres at high speeds to build his own novel world.From the original representative writer of advent-garde literature to the conscious transformation of new historicism,new realism and realism writer,Su Tong's writing path reflects the diachronic trajecto-ry and creative development of the literature development in the new period.The adaptation of film and television of his avant-garde narrative and new historical fiction in 90s,earned Su Tong a wide range of prestige and status,becoming the peak of his famous career.Since the new century,in addition to the creation of short stories,Su Tong has also published many novels in succession,but it has always been neglected and mixed,until 'Riverbank'(2009)and 'The Yellow Chickadee'(2013)respectively won The third Manbuk Asian Literature Prize and The 9th MaoDun Literature Award,Su Tong took new work after the transformation and renewed attention and discussion among the literary and critics.This paper will take Su Tong's text'Riverbank' and 'The Yellow Chickadee'created after the new century as the entry point,Through the integration and combing of previous works,research author's creation of novels in the shaping of the characters,the development of the narrative art and thethematic implication in the cultural context after the new century from close reading,explore the loss and choice of human nature in the predicament of survival,and envisage at his contradictions and paradoxes in this creative attempt,where can reflect on how modern writers stand in the current era,achieve breakthrough and transcendence in a variety of literary trends.This paper is divided into the following sections to discuss:The introduction part generalize the writer's creation general situation from 1980s to the new century,briefly present Su Tong's previous creative trajectory and transitional veins.After researching and analysising the complex study of the Su Tong,writer finded that the contemporary review circle has a blank place on the study of Su Tong's novel since the new century.From the first chapter is a horizontal display of the present situation of Su Tong's creation.The first chapter is based on the three types of characters in the author's writings:the youth image of 'Xiangchushu Street',the female image of 'Pink Lady'and the elder generation image of 'The hometown of Fengyangshu'.analyzes how the characters have changed and developed in the past.The second chapter finds the transformation of the writer's creative style and narrative skills on the basis of the analysis of character types,discussing how the author 'changes his story telling'from the three most obvious changes in the narrative background,language style and emotional rhythm.The third chapter analyzes the the thinking about human nature and history from shallower to the deeper,summarizing Su Tong's deepening and extension of the original themes in the literary creation of the new century from the confusion of growing up,the desire of human nature,the loneliness of life and the nihility of history and discovers that he has dispeled the fog of history to strive to be close to the real life.In the last chapter,author confronts the criticism and debate of Su Tong's literary creation since the new century,Through meticulous analysis and comprehensive interpretation of the text,it is believed that in the novelists' novels since the new century,there is indeed a break in the plot and the confusion of the theme.Through the analysis of the contradictions in the two works of Su Tong,it's the better way to rethink how the excellent writers maintain the balance between ideology and artistry in the current cultural context and achieve their own breakthroughs and growth.
