The network urban romantic novel is the current variation of the traditional urbanromance.It inherits traditional popular romance and absorbs network culture,popular culture,youth subculture.Compared with traditional urban romance,it shows great innovation in content and form.This paper is a preliminary study of the network urban romantic novel from the perspective of cultural analysis.Based on the close reading of network urban romantic novel,this paper explores the new characteristics of network urban romantic novel by comparing with traditional urban romance.In addition,around the Internet culture and mass culture,this paper will interpret all kinds of writing tendencies in network urban romantic novel under the influences of modern popular culture,and make preliminary value judgments.The thesis consists of three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.In the first part,first of all,the development history of the urban romance will be briefly reviewed,also the concept and the research scope of “network urban romantic novel” will be defined.Secondly,the current research status of the network urban romantic novel is analyzed.Thirdly,it points out the innovation point of this paper.The main body of the text also contains three chapters,which are as follows:The first chapter is the network urban romantic novel’s love writing.Compared with traditional urban romance,network urban romantic novel shows obvious creative characteristics of the network age in the writing of love stories.In love narration,it shows characteristics of postmodernism,such as flatness,fragmentation and normalization.It also portrays people’s love psychology in the network age,such as,sweet,pet,sadistic and sentimental,which reflect people’s new aesthetic syndrome.In addition,under the influence of network media and network culture,network urban romantic novel shows new web writing characteristics,such as interaction,collage and golden finger.The second chapter is the network urban romantic novel’s meaning-expression space.The appearance of the romantic novel is closely related to the development of the city and the gathering of young people in city.This chapter analyzes the spatial expression in the network urban romantic novel,which means to explore the relation between city space and the young people’s living feeling.The paper holds the opinion that people’s living feeling is determined bythe city space,but also people gives new meaning to city space.What is more,the campus space,which exists as memories in the novel,carries the young people’s nostalgia.To a certain extent,the writing of city space in the network urban romantic novel reflects the spiritual world of the urban youth,who grow up with the development of the network.The third chapter is the gender expression of the network urban romantic novel.The network urban romantic novel is a vivid "feminine" novel,but this type of novel also has a large number of male writers and readers.This chapter investigates the influence of gender consciousness on the creation and reading of network urban romantic novels from the perspective of gender.First,the gender role image of "male" and "feminine" novel is compared.Secondly,the different gender narrative patterns of "male" and "feminine" novel are analyzed,and it is a hard thing to construct the harmonious sexual discourse.Finally,it points out how popular feminism in the network urban romantic novel is expressed through the internet.In the conclusion,the author first points out some other characteristics of the network urban romantic novels which the paper does not contains,and then discusses the shortcomings of this novel,such as patterned writing,narrow scope in narrative,and lack of outstanding works.In addition,the conclusion also points out that the network urban romantic novels’ function in expressing young people’s emotion,and making prospects for its future development.
