Research On The Errors Of Overlapping Adjectives In Foreign Students

Based on the methods of analyzing linguistic data,questionnaire survey and interviews between teachers and students,This paper analyzes the types and reasons of the common errors of international students using Chinese adjective overlapping forms,In the end,we put forward some suggestions on teaching and textbook writing.The types of the errors of international students using adjective overlapping forms can be divided into three types:should use without using,shouldn't use but used and used but wrong.The last type has two forms,one is adjective overlapping forms errors including overlapping morpheme,overlapping forms of internal dislocation,and create adjective overlapping forms.Another is the errors in the use of adjective overlapping forms with other words including disorder,omission,addition and wrong alternation.Among them,disorder and wrong alternation are the most typical errors.The main reasons for errors of adjective overlapping forms are mainly including the following aspects:negative influence of the mother language,negative effects of the target language,learning and teaching strategies etc.Influenced by Korean,it is easy for South Korean students to miss the "de" when they use Chinese adjective overlapping forms.The over-generalization of the overlapping rules will also course international students to create some adjective overlapping forms which are not exist in Chinese.International students will also adopt the avoidance learning strategy,replacing adjective overlapping forms with other expressions.The teaching of adjective overlapping forms should strengthen the explanation of the using conditions.It is necessary to inform students of the overlapping conditions.Attention should be paid to the differences between the adjective overlapping forms with original forms and "adverb of degree + adjective",and pragmatic explanations should be noticed.Textbook writing should be supplemented with targeted exercises and enrich the types of exercises.
