The Description Of Taoism In Popular Novels In Ming And Qing Dynasties

The popular novels born in the Ming and Qing dynasties had about a thousand novels with different themes and different contents,but there were some similarities in the description,that is,to add the description of Taoism to the novels.Over the years,scholars have made fruitful achievements in the fields of philosophy,history,religion,literature.But the popular novels of Ming and Qing dynasties are the object of study,so there is still some space to study this problem.This article will be divided into two parts:introduction and text.In the introduction part,first of all,the significance of this topic is briefly described.On the basis of reviewing the research that related to this topic recently,and we’ll draw the conclusion that this article will continue to dig out the place.The main text will be divided into five chapters:In chapter one,This paper introduces the provenance of the word "Taoist",and differentiates the difference between the words in the pre-Qin period.Through the analysis of historical data,we can understand the acceptance of Taoism in Ming and Qing dynasties.At the same time,with astrology as the breakthrough point,the author makes a simple distinction between Taoist classics and novels.In chapter two,according to the difference of application purpose and means,the description of Taoism used in the popular fictions of Ming and Qing dynasty are divided into three categories:predictive Taoism,long life Taoism,and other miscellaneous techniques.The usage of all kinds of Taoism in popular novels is analyzed respectively.After finding out the differences between these Taoism,we observed the ancient psychology reflected by several Taoism.In the third chapter,the author selects the group of Taoist priest of Taoism,and through the plots of these novels,we first classify the characters in the works and summarize their respective characteristics and rich cultural connotations.Secondly,comparing the novels with the official history,taking several important figures as the representative,observing the application and transformation of literature to historiography.The chapter four will analyze the function and artistic value of the description of the novel in the novel,which can promote the development of the plot of the novel,help to shape the image of the characters,and add the fantasy of the novel.However,the description of the Taoist art also has advantages and disadvantages.Overly indulging in the spread of Chen Dao will make the novel duplicate,lead to the monotony of the novel,and lack the new meaning,thus reducing the uniqueness and artistry of the novel.The fifth chapter will focus on the reasons for Ming and Qing novelists that add Taoist descriptions.On the one hand,the development of Taoism was prosperous in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,especially in the middle and late Ming Dynasty.On the other hand,in imitation and reference historical novels and novels of various genres have inspired the novelists to create and innovate it.In addition,the novels of the Ming and Qing Dynasties are also important factors influencing the creation of novels.
