The two overtures to "Coriolis" and "Egmont" are the works of Beethoven's heroes, completed in 1807 and 1810 respectively. They are all done for the literary tragedy, with profound literary connotation.Beethoven created a total of ten overtures,of which four are for the opera "Fidelio",except for some of the overtures to the King, two of the overtures to Coriolan and Egmont is the most important drama overtures. This article is divided into three chapters, mainly from the background, ontology, thinking three major aspects of research. The background includes the political and military conditions in Europe at the beginning of the nineteenth century, the economic, life and health status of Beethoven, the literary origins of the two overtures, the relationship between Beethoven and the two writers, and the debut performance of Overtures. The analysis of music ontology involves the theme of music, melody, tonality, motivation development, form and other aspects of the music, the connection with the drama plot, the personality and fate of the characters, the comparison of the theme of the characters in the Overtures, and the influence of the musical structure on the drama pattern. The ideas embodied in the two preludes are generalized as heroic and democratic. However, the heroism here is tragic linked with the tragedy, which not only reflects the tragedy in the drama plot, but also tells the tragedy in the musical language.Heroism is also reflected in women, more in line with the idea of equality.Beethoven's democratic thinking is widespread. He believes that the darkness is only temporary, and the light will eventually shine through the earth.
