Sorting Out And Researching The Historical Materials Of Bands From The Shanghai Municipal Bureau Of Industry And Engineering In "Sheng Bao"

In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties,Western music culture gradually entered China with the "Western learning spreading to the East".Shanghai,as the representative of Western culture input into China,was an important geographical area for the study of.cultural exchanges between Chinese and Western.Shanghai Municipal Orchestra,founded in the Shanghai Concession,was the largest and most influential art group.Shanghai Municipal Orchestra was founded by the Westerners and then inherited by the Chinese people.Although the band was founded in 1879,it really began to attract most attention from the first half of the 20th century.Since 1919,Mei Baiqi took over the band and gradually opened it to Chinese audiences.He cooperated with Chinese musicians and created "Chinese style" symphonic music works,gradually integrating it into Chinese native culture.While Western music flows into China,Chinese society is also absorbing and accepting Western music.Chinese people are gradually widening their horizons in the process of constant contact with Western music.To a certain extent,this is a good starting of communication between Chinese and Western music culture.Shanghai Municipal Orchestra has also become an important carrier for the dissemination of Western music in China.The historical documents are the most important basis for the study of modern Chinese history.The newspapers and periodicals are the most time-efficient in modern times.The "Declaration" newspaper,the longest-running and largest circulation newspaper in the period of the Republic of China,represents the mass media and public opinions.This study will further discuss the embodiment of the role of Shanghai Municipal Orchestra in modern music exchange between China and the West in various stages of band development,through the information on the introduction of the content of the band's concert program,advertising,and band organization in the 1919-1949 of "Declaration",and summarizing the previous literature.
