The report of the 19 th Party Congress put forward: “Building an army of knowledge-based,skill-based,and innovative workers,promoting the spirit of model workers and the spirit of craftsmen,creating a glorious social manner of work and an ethos of excellence,and accelerating the construction of an innovative country.” In the process of building an innovative country,higher vocational colleges carries the important mission of cultivating high-quality technical talents for the society.But at present,local higher vocational colleges still needs to be optimized in cultivating talents.Professor Gailhard Matthias of the Institute of Arts at Kassel University in Germany sharply criticized the current status of Chinese art and design education in 2005: “The Department of Art and Design in China has been transformed into a for-profit company.Its products are batches of defective graduates trained from defective educational lines.Each year,the number of graduates reaches hundreds of thousands.When they have just left the school gate,they are unable to adapt to the demands of modern designers.Not to mention the importance of design teaching.” Prof Gailhard Matthias pointed out the dilemma of the derailment of the supply of Chinese art and design education talents and the needs of the social talent market.According to the Michaels2017 latest employment report for college students,“In the 2017 professional education category,the unemployment rate was the highest in the art design media category,up to 54% in the six months.” This shows that today's higher vocational art design Education still cannot get out of this dilemma.Therefore,we need to re-examine the craftsmanship of excellence,rigorous focus,and pursuing perfection,and practically put into practice the “craftsmanship spirit” that fosters the students of vocational arts and design in vocational schools.This will promote the long-term development of their future careers.This will promote the sustainable development of local higher vocational colleges and the establishment of a solid talent base for the society are of great significance.Based on the connotation of the craftsman spirit,this article,based on the study of a large number of related literature and theories,combined with the characteristics of environment art design major in local higher vocational colleges,summed up the "artisan spirit" of its professional students is mainly reflected in the following four aspects: Respect the professional ethics with original and non-profit art as the core,professional ability with knowledge and action and continuous innovation as the core,professional attitude with excellence and hard work as the core,and career ideal with endless art and pursuit of perfection as the core.According to its connotation elements,the survey was designed to interview the local first-line professionalteachers.Through the investigation,the status quo of the cultivation of “craftsmanship spirit” for the environment art design major in local vocational colleges was studied,and the problems existing in cultivating the “artisan spirit” of the students were analyzed,ie,the concept of vocational education.Lagging,fuzzy training objectives,imperfect personnel training model,loopholes in the practical education system,and single education and teaching methods.According to the training status and research results,this paper analyzes the reasons for the problems in the cultivation of “craftsmanship spirit” of environmental art design majors in local higher vocational schools from the perspectives of students themselves,schools and social environment.This puts forward the training strategy,that is: change the concept of traditional vocational education,guide students to establish a correct career outlook,optimize the training program for talents,and improve the professional ability of students;strengthen the construction of “dual-qualified” teachers and focus on improving the quality of teachers;guide students to establish career ideals,active career planning.It will provide reference for the cultivation and research of the "artisan spirit" in local higher vocational colleges.
