"Decorative" Charm

As one of the most influential artist in 20~thh century,Alex Katz has made a profound influence on modern students.Based on figurative painting,Katz's works prefer concise model,flat color and ornamental picture.With his unique artistic language,Katz created the works with a special beauty of poem.As a fan of Katz,my personal works of art could be a reflection of his style.In this article,Katz's unique ornamentalpaintings will be illustrated with my personal comprehension and practicing.The rest of this article will be expanded into three parts:Part 1 is a brief introduction of Alex Katz's life and how the evolution of American arts of painting influenced him.As a background of introduction above,further analysis on Katz's style of paintings and characterPart 2 is detailed analysis on Katz's works of art which will be illustrated with aspect of concise model,exaggerate and vivid colors,and fantastic composition of a picture.With Katz's specific works of art,his style could be shown for better comprehension.Part 3 is my personal works of art which are influenced by Katz.Through study which combined with practical creating,with the inspiration during explore Katz's career of art,it was found that it expanded my horizon and diverged creating inspiration.In my own works of painting,the influence of Katz's style and ornamental art language can be found obviously.
