Alex Katz Painting Research And The Creative Inspiration To The Author

After entering the 20th century,exchanges between various arts became more frequent and convenient.In the era of multicultural exchanges,cultures between countries influenced each other,and various works of art emerged in an endless stream,forming a rich and colorful contemporary art.This article discussed Kates is an American figurative painter,which combines the east and western art aesthetics,each director,their favorite art and understanding,through the brush describes the people and scenery,etc.,recorded the current times,combining diverse art,combining figurative painting with abstract painting,looking for balance between abstract and figurative,formed a unique new figurative painting.This paper starts with the era background of Katz’s life,each era has its own style,and the painter is impossible to break away from his own era.So understand the influence of the contemporary background of American art on Katz and the diverse fusion in Katz painting.Second,to study the artistic characteristics of Katz’s painting,mainly from the composition,color and modeling of the painting works.Third,Katz’s artistic achievements and innovation,and the inspiration for contemporary painting.Combine the artistic characteristics of Katz’s painting with my creation,learn from it and apply it in my oil painting creation.Katz integrated figurative and abstraction,integrated graphic and advertising design into the creation,and borrowed for Oriental heterogeneous culture,forming a new figurational painting.The picture of his works is calm and simple,full of Oriental charm.The expression of the characters depicted is simple,removing the meaning and content of the picture.The picture has a sense of alienation,reflecting the face of today’s era.The integration of different paintings and the eclectic of different cultures reflect the tolerance of contemporary painting for different cultures and painting and the liberation of art,art is no longer limited to form or technology,but has a more free space for development.This paper aims to provide more thinking of the integration of Eastern and Western art through the analysis of Katz painting concept.For the integration of multicultural,the innovative thinking and inspiration of contemporary painting,I express my understanding of Katz painting through the practice and application of oil painting.
