Research On Patchwork Art Based On The Form Of Installation

As an ancient and glorious art form,quilting art endures in the history with unique language and forms.It represents not only a traditional manual technology,but also an expression integrating aesthetic,practical,artistic and ornamental.With the continuous development of social progress,quilting art gradually shows more expressive artistic skills and extraordinary inclusiveness by merging with other art forms.The purpose of this study is to create a group of works with characteristic of quilt and installation,and to expand the expression and scope for quilting art.This paper expounds the definition of the quilting art based on installation pattern,introduces the unique expression of the quilting art based on installation pattern.Under the help of installation pattern features of creating three dimensional environment and guiding audience involvement and participation,quilting art evolves from two-dimensional plane to three-dimensional form.Based on the above research idea,the whole design process of the quilting art based on installation pattern is stated in the fifth chapter.According to the theme of environmental protection,several schemes are designed and the works of "Staring" is selected as the object.By assembling a quilting painting and a deer bonded by fabrics,a final works correspond to the purpose of this study is created.The works is elaborately designed and interpreted from milt-view of detail control,overall design and space exhibition.The works also directly expresses the destruction of forest and the desire for a green environment.The quilting art based on installation pattern in this study improves the progress of quilting art from artistic expression,thought connotation and cultural value,and makes a major breakthrough to quilting art.Besides,the works in this paper proposes powerful argument for the research purpose,demonstrates the feasibility and practical application value,and awakes people’s attention to environmental protection through the unique expressive force.
