As a women artist,Zhou Sisong,whose works are the most representative and influential,stands rock-firm with no relatives in the history of Chinese Art in the 20 th century.We can say that the development course of her artistic creation was brilliant and returned to insipid.It has a far-reaching influence on the Inheritance and development of Chinese painting.It is worth studying.Her paintings broke through the interpretation of the objective world.While devoting to thinking about real life her paintings also pay attention to the excavation of real life in the theme of emotional symbols.She injected her individual unique female compassion into her arts.Her works not only based on its emotional coloring expression but also had a close connection with her feelings and minds in different historical periods.Based on feminism thought,Zhou's art process is divided into three stages—early art,middle art and terminal art.From her arts,we can know her life experience made her gradually realized her value as a women.Compared with the early and middle stages,feminism thought expressed in her post stage paintings dominated gradually.Her paintings also expressed her reflection of the historical destiny of China,self-reliance experience and life.This thesis is based on some existing research results,studies from Zhou's art of painting,takes feminism thought on as the object of the research,analyses Zhou's formal language of painting and combined with relevant historical data as well,by means of induction and comparison,analyses and sums Zhou's feminism thought up comprehensively in her art development.Chapter One summarizes the background of Zhou's artistic style as well as social reform and Inheritance and innovation of ink painting since the twentieth century.Based on Western art of kollwitz and marubeni,Chapter Two straightens out Self-mapping and awakening of female consciousness in Zhou's paintings.Chapter Three discusses tragic implications expressed in Zhou's works.Series Yi nu and Lotus and landscape scenery elaborate appearance,intensification and sublimation of Zhou's female consciousness from three different aspects.Chapter Four discusses Zhou's enlightenment and influence to contemporary female painters--playing a role in connecting the past and the future female painters' painting art.
