Research On The Identity Of Craftsmen In Tang Dynasty

The Tang Dynasty was an important period for the rapid development of China's commodity economy,and it was also an important period for the transformation of China's feudal society into prosperity.During the Tang Dynasty,the Tang Dynasty experienced the " Great Reign of Zhen guan"," Great Reign of Kai yuan"," Great Reign of Yuan he" and other prosperous times,which had typical characteristics and representativeness in the development of Chinese traditional society.The prosperity of the country and the opening of society have made the Tang Dynasty more developed in politics,economy,culture,science and technology and Chinese and foreign communication.The handicraft industry has made great progress in product categories,production scale and technological level.Craftsmen are an important group in ancient China and they are the main force to promote the development of technology,the development and progress of handicraft industry can not be separated from the creation of craftsmen.Nevertheless,the craftsman had a low status for a long time,“Once you become a craftsman,you can not be engaged in other industries”.This situation was changed in the middle and later period of the Tang Dynasty,The period of service between craftsmen and ordinary farmers is not much different.With the popularity of Recruiting craftsmen and Paying funds instead of serving in the middle and late Tang Dynasty the identity status of craftsmen has gradually increased.This article discusses four aspects: the system background,the main types,the economic policies of Tang Dynasty,the influence of the craftsmen and the development of the craftsman's identity.The first part discusses the management of the government craftsmen and the private craftsmen from the aspects of the management organization and management policy of the craftsmen,and lays the foundation for the third part to discuss the change of craftsman's identity.The second part mainly discusses the composition and survival of the government craftsmen and private craftsmen in Tang Dynasty.The third part mainly discusses the influence of the Tang Dynasty's policies on the identity of craftsmen in Tang Dynasty,which is discussed from the aspects of equalization system,two tax laws,and the system of employment and the system of Paying funds instead of serving.The fourth part discusses the changes of the identity of craftsmen in Tang Dynasty from the service period and service form.
