The distribution of caves in China is wide and rich in content.It is an important information on the study of ancient Chinese society,economy,politics,culture,art,religious belief and architecture.Fahua Temple in Anning City,Yunnan Province,it is an important Buddhist monument in ancient Yunnan.Grottoes carved eighteen Lohan,Reclining Buddha,Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva,Ksitigarbha and many other Buddha,Many statues have been seriously damaged because of man-made destruction.Only Reclining Buddha,Avalokitesvar Bodhisattva,Ksitigarbha to get a better preservation.On the basis of full field investigation,this paper makes an in-depth study on the historical and cultural origins of the grottoes,based on the preservation of the better reclining Buddha and the possession of the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva statues.First of all,the article discusses the cultural origins of Fahua Temple Grottoes.Through the comparison with the similar statues of Longmen Grottoes,Binxian Grottoes,Sichuan Anyue Grottoes and Dazu Rock Carvings,it is believed that the statues of Fahua Temple are originates in the Central Plains and Most similar to statues of the Grottoes in Sichuan,the Cave is particularly frequent in the Sichuan area,and it is inferred that the statue of the Fahua Temple can be introduced into Sichuan.Secondly,the article describes the Fahua Grottoes are closely geared the Fahua Faith,the Nirvana Faith and the Folk Beliefs.The combination of Avalokiteshvara and Ksitigarbha can indicate people at that time hope to be free from suffering and pay close attention to saving form the hell transmigration.Finally,the article discusses the close relationship between Buddhism in Yunnan and the mainland during the Dali period and the reasons for the appearance of the faucet grotto statues in Dali.According to the history of the account,because the Song Dynasty surrounding the enemy formidable and difficult to deal with.And think that the war with Nanzhao brought the Tang Dynasty to the end,there is not much contact with the Dali,both in the history of the two sides are not much.However,from the study of the Fahua Temple Grottoes,we found that the relationship between the two sides,especially religious relations and folk relations has been close.Fahua Temple Grotto represents the fusion and influence between Yunnan and the Central Plains.
