Objective:1.To explore the correlation between gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome and TS.Providing evidence for the prevention and treatment of TS from the perspective of etiology of TCM.2.To study the related factors of gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome.3.To explore the correlation between related factors of gastrointestinal pyretia and TS,and to provide evidences for the formulation of preventive measures of TS.Methods: A case-control study was conducted to collect cases according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, cases were included in case group(TS)and control group(Con)respectively. The exposure factor was gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome. The participants were diagnosed with the Diagnostic Scale of Gastrointestinal pyretic Syndrome(Paediatric Part).SPSS 24.0 software package was used to analyze the correlation between gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome and TS.The related factors of gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome were analyzed by logistic regression analysis. To explore the correlation between the selected related factors and TS.All the tests were bilateral tests, and the difference was statistically significant with P < 0.05.Results: 182 patients were enrolled in this study,91 in case group and 91 in control group. There were 45(49.5%)patients have gastrointestinal heat retention syndrome while 46(50.5%)patients without this syndrome in case group. In the control group, there were 12(13.2%)patients have gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome,79(86.8%)patients without gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome.Independent sample t test was used to compare the differences of age, height, weight and BMI between the control group and the case group. The results showed that there were no significant differences in age and BMI between two groups(P > 0.05).1.The correlation between gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome and TS in children.OR of TS in children with gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome was 6.500.The 95% confidence interval was 2.752-15.353,P<0.001.Gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome was correlated with TS.2.Relevant factors of gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome: salty and greasy diet, drinking beverages, less vegetables and fruits, roadside snacks, fried and baked food, cold drinks, overeating. In addition, children's eczema was correlated with children's gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome.Compared with light diet, salty and greasy diet was correlated with gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome,OR=3.854,P=0.001,95% CI [1.676-8.865];Drinking beverage was correlated with gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome.Compared with drinking beverage less than once per month,1-3 times/month OR=3.799,P=0.004,95% CI [1.540-9.372].Fewer vegetables consumption were correlated with gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome.Compared with eating vegetables every day, three times per week OR=3.341,P=0.001,95% CI [1.609-6.938];Less fruit consumption was related to gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome.Compared with eating fruit every day, eating fruit 1-3 times per week OR= 2.525,P=0.021,95% CI [1.149-5.547];There was correlation between roadside snacks and gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome.Compared with eating roadside snacks less than once per month,1-3 times/month OR=3.528,P=0.001,95% CI [1.682-7.403].Fried and baked food consumption were correlated with gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome.Compared with eating fried and baked food less than once per month,1-3 times/week OR=2.957,P=0.017,95%CI [1.212-7.213];Cold drinks consumption was correlated with with gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome.Compared with drinking cold drinks less than once per month,1-3 times/week OR=3.905,P=0.005,95% CI [1.499-10.173];Overeating was correlated with gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome.Compared with overeating less than once per month,1-3 times per month OR=4.677,P < 0.001,95% CI [2.021-10.821].The correlation between pediatric eczema and gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome was OR=3.117,P=0.004,95% CI [1.424-6.819].3.Relevant factors of gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome and TS: The correlation between the above-mentioned factors and TS was studied. It was concluded that: dietary habits and dietary structure: drinking beverages, less vegetables, roadside snacks, fried and baked food, cold drinks, and overeating were correlated with TS in children.Drinking beverage was the related factor of TS,compared with drinking beverage less than once a month, using 1-3 times/month OR=4.114,P=0.004,95% CI [1.574-10.753];Less vegetables consumption was the related factor of TS.Compared with eating vegetables more than once a day,1-3 times/week OR=3.438,P=0.001,95% CI [1.606-7.358];Eating roadside snacks was related to TS,compared with eating roadside snacks less than once a month,1-3 times per week OR=7.907,P=0.001,95% CI [2.453-25.481];Fried and baked food consumption were the correlative factors of TS.Compared with eating less than once fried and baked food per month, eating 1-3 times per week OR=13.555,P < 0.001,95% CI [3.878-47.379];Drinking cold drinks was correlated with TS.Compared with drinking cold drinks less than once per month,1-3 times per week OR=2.867,P=0.038,95% CI [1.062-7.736];Overeating was the correlative factor of TS.Compared with overeating less than once per month,1-3 times per month OR=43.607,P=0.009,95% CI [2.591-733.593].Conclusion:1.Gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome was correlated with TS.2.Individual harmful eating habits such as less consumption of vegetables and fruits were related factors of gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome in children.3.Most of the factors related to gastrointestinal pyretic syndrome, such as dietary habits and dietary structure, were related to TS.
