Case Work Involving The Mental Comfort Of The Semi-disabled Elderly In The Medical And Elderly Care Institutions

Based on the demand theory and social support theory,this study took Ji'an H hospital as the research object,combined with literature research,interview and questionnaire survey,and found that most of the semi disabled elderly have the needs of self-awareness improvement,family support and social network construction.Therefore,after the investigation,HXY—a semi disabled elderly person,was selected as the case owner.The overall goal is to improve the self-worth cognition of the case owner,rebuild the social support network,and improve the mental state of the case owner,so as to provide spiritual consolation.During the two-month case work period,there are four stages and a total of 11 case activities.After the conclusion of the case,the author made a comprehensive summary and in-depth reflection on the case service,and found that the mental state of HXY elderly has been greatly improved.Therefore,it can be considered that social workers can improve the spiritual comfort status of the semi disabled elderly in institutions by reconstructing social support network under the guidance of social support theory.It is also beneficial for the semi disabled elderly to build up their self-confidence,enhance their resilience and live a happy old age in the organization.
