A Clinical Evaluation Study On The Physical Characteristics Of Allergic Rhinitis And The Intervention Effect Of Moxibustion

ObjectivesBased on the body constitution theories of tranditional Chinese medicine,we tried to find out the physical characteristics of patients with allergic rhinitis by comparing that of healthy people.At the same time,the effect of moxibustion therapy on the physical characteristics of allergic rhinitis and its clinical efficacy were evaluated.Methods1.We conducted a questionnaire survey on basic data of allergic rhinitis(AR)patients and healthy people in the community,and included them in the allergic rhinitis group and the normal group,and collected physical characteristics such as internal organs,meridians and limbs.2.A parallel control method was adopted,and patients with allergic rhinitis were included in the treatment group and the control group according to the diagnostic criteria of traditional Chinese and Western medicine.The treatment group used moxibustion therapy once a day;the control group received no treatment.Observing the changes of physical characteristics and clinical symptoms of the two groups after the end of the treatment course.3.SPSS 20.0 and Excel are used for statistics analysis.For different counting and measurement data,using independent sample t-test,rank sum test,chi-square test,etc.Results1.Basic data analysis The total number of respendents was 100,including 35 males and 65 females;aged 38.81±14.56 years.Twenty-three males and 27 females were included in the clinical intervention,aged 31.72±14.10 years.2.Physical characteristics of AR Compared with the normal group,the AR group showed white skin,rough texture and thin shoulders,the major-thenar is greener and the texture is rougher,as well as rough texture appeared around the nose and lips(P<0.05).In addition,according to the classic physical classification standards,we find out the constitutional type of patients with allergic rhinitis were mostly balanced,special,and wet sputum types.3.Evaluation of clinical effect and physical characteristics of moxibustion intervention in AR Compared with the control group,the treatment group had significant differences in alleviating nasal symptoms,signs such as nasal congestion,runny nose,itchy nose,sneezing,and nasal mucosal state(P<0.05),and the total effective rate was 92%.In terms of physical characteristics after moxibustion intervention,the texture of skin,color and texture of the major-thenar,texture and hard or brittle of lips were statistically different from the control group(P<0.05);There is no significant difference in the characteristic of major-thenar muscate state,height of the lips,hard or brittle of ears,balance of ears,and waist muscles(P>0.05).Conclusion1.Physical characteristics of AR shows "white,rough in skin and large lung","thin shoulders","rough texture of lips",and the color and texture of major-thenar is green and rough.It was Suggested that the physical characteristics of AR that the lungs is large and brittle,spleen is large in shape,meanwhile,the deficiency syndrome of the lung and with cold.2.Moxibustion therapy can effectively improve the physical characteristics of patients with AR,including make the skin texture more dense,the cyan veins at the major-thenar are lighter,and promote the lips to be denser and firmer.3.Moxibustion therapy can effectively treat allergic rhinitis,and has obvious improvement on its clinical symptoms and signs,including nasal congestion,runny nose,itchy nose,sneezing,and nasal mucosal state.
