| In recent years China seeks to establish a hierarchical medical treatment system in which different levels of medical institutions receive patients according to the seriousness and urgency of the diseases they have, thereby most of patients with common disease should be transferred to grassroots medical institutions. It is one of a core system of rational allocation of health resources and a guarantee to realize the goal to provide everyone with access to basic medical and health services. At present China’s grassroots medical institutions still have many problems which remain to be solved, such as the shortage of medical personnel, the simple and crude medical equipment and low technology level, which to some extent lead patients to go to the large hospitals even if they get just a little sick. The hierarchical medical treatment system is a way to solve the problem of unbalanced allocation of health resources. As a result,it is of great significance for the realization of the goals of reducing medical expenses, enabling patients to obtain high-quality medical services in appropriate places and improving the health conditions of residents in rural areas.Medical equipment is an important component of health resources and also one of the important factors affecting the service capacity of rural medical institutions. This article uses data which collected through the Natural Science Fund Project to describe the current situation and the usage of health resources in the medical equipment from 47 township health centers in 5 representative provinces and investigate 3279 rural residents’choice of medical treatment institutions and the influencing factors by taking the form of household survey questionnaire.By the use of questionnaire survey and multivariate linear regression analysis,it concludes the correlate relationship between medical equipment to the choice of medical institutions.By the analysis we found the difference of application and usage of medical equipment between different economic regions. The equipment of blood routine instrument, stool routine instrument, pregnancy test equipment, defibrillator and respirator in township hospitals in economically backward areas are lower than those in developed areas. And the increase in suitable medical equipment like X-ray machine, debridement suture equipment, respirator and utilization such as X-ray machine, respirator and routine urine analyzer from the government finance can raise the number of annual visit of hospitals and the possibility that people choose the township health center as their first-choice medical institution. In the end, combining with social and economy factors, the article makes some recommendations for improving the current situation and the usage of medical equipment in township health centers by increasing government investment;attract talented professional and other relevant policies and measures. The research can provide us some advice that can help rural residents look for medical care reasonably, improve the quality of services provided by medical institutions and attract rural residents to grass-roots hospitals for medical treatment. |
