Preliminary Study On The Establishment Of H. Pylori Infection TCM Database And Clinical Research On H. Pylori Infection And Tongue Diagnosis

ObjectiveTo establish a database system of Helicobacter pylori related gastropathy and study the relation between the tongue appearance of patients with upper gastrointestinal symptoms and H.pylori infectionMethods1.Establishing the database system:Design a case report form and establish a database system of Helicobacter pylori related gastropathy on the base of B/S,using a Microsoft or Linux operating system and the PostgreSQL storage database engine with the help of a software companie.2.Clinical research:Based on the literature consulting and comprehensive expert advice,the survey questionnaire of tongue appearance was designed according to the prospective and cross-sectional analysis epidemiological investigation methods.From December 2013 to March 2015,1112 cases of hospitalized patients with upper gastrointestinal symptoms from Traditional Chinese Medicine and Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine Department of Peking University First Hospital met the inclusion criteria and were acquired tongue manifestation information.The survey database was established and statistically analyzed by software SAS 8.3.Results1.Establishing the database system:The database system which is tested and corrected is a system that has the function such as collection,processing,access,management,analysis and decision-making.It can efficiently and rapidly store and manage the data of patients with Helicobacter pylori related gastropathy2.Clinical research:Among the 1112 cases of hospitalized patients with upper gastrointestinal symptoms:1.The frequencies of the tongue colors were as follows:dark-red tongue,deep-red tongue,bright red tongue,light red tongue,purple color or with ecchymoses of the tongue,pale tongue and dull tongue.2.H.pylori detection rate and tongue coating were related.The frequencies of the tongue coating were as follows:yellow greasy fur,thin yellow tongue coating,white greasy fur,less or exfoliative fur,thin and white fur.3.Comparied with light red tongue,H.pylori detection rate among pale tongue,dull tongue and purple color or with ecchymoses of the tongue,obvious statistic differences were observed.4.Statistic differences of greasy coating vs.non-greasy coating,white greasy fur vs.yellow greasy fur,thin and white fur vs.thin yellow tongue coating and white tongue coating vs.yellow tongue coating were detected.Conclusions1.Establishing the database system:The data system implement efficient and standard clinical trial data management.2.Clinical research:H.pylori infection were mainly seen in patients with dark-red tongue,deep-red tongue,bright red tongue and light red tonguewhile greasy coating and yellow tongue coating.H.pylori infection had an obvious correlation to tongue appearance.
