With the growth of population and the deterioration of the ecological environment,the problem of water scarcity in China are more serious than ever before.China's per capita access to fresh water resources is extremely short,less than a quarter of the global per capita usage.As a traditional agricultural country,the usage of water for agricultural irrigation in China are more than 70% of all available fresh water resources.Therefore,it is necessary to develop and promote intelligent irrigation systems and equipment.Thus,this project presented and designed an intelligent water-saving irrigation system based on Raspberry Pi 3B,and then the prototype of the system has been tested and studied.The main research of this paper are as follows:1.A low-cost,high-precision intelligent irrigation system was designed using Raspberry Pi 3B,soil moisture and temperature sensor,light intensity sensor,air temperature sensor and DC peristaltic pump and its driving circuit.2.Control programs and Web applications were written by Python programming language,combined with the Internet of Things(IOT),so that the irrigation system can be monitored by users via the Internet or LAN,and real-time soil moisture and other sensor information can be obtained as well.3.Fuzzy control algorithm for irrigation in intelligent irrigation system was designed by using MATLAB's Fuzzy Logic Designer toolkit,and the control system was modeled by using SIMULINK.The dynamic performance of fuzzy control was better than that of traditional control in simulation experiments;finally,off-line fuzzy lookup table for the actual fuzzy control of irrigation system have been generated.The real experiment have been done,and the conclusion is consistent with the simulation experiment.4.The hardware and software of whole irrigation system and web application have been tested.The variation of the voltage PWM duty cycle and the flow rate of the 12 V DC pump was studied.Finally,the tomato experiment was carried out as an example.The experimental group used the fuzzy control algorithm and another group used the traditional control,the growth of tomato plants in the experimental group was better.
