China was a country with large amount of fruit production and importation. With the continuous increase of fruit import of China, the surface of these tropical fruits was easy to carry quarantine pests,of which Planococcus lilacinus Cockerell was one of the frequently intercepted, increasing fruit importation lead to dramatic interceptions of mealybugs, especially Planococcus lilacinus Cockerell, which threatened the international trade of fruits and the security of agricultural production. In order to develop an effective and environmental friendly quarantine treatment technologiy,we established a laboratory P.lilacinus populations, determined the tolerance of different developmental stages of P.lilacinus to phosphine fumigation, investigated the dose-mortality response of the most tolerant stage, adult females, evaluated the effect of phosphine fumigation on the postharvest quality of dragon fruit, and measured phosphine residues in fumigated fruits. The main findings are as follows:1.Established a laboratory P.lilacinus populations. To develop the new quarantine fumigation methods,Our trial established a laboratory P.lilacinus populations. Results showed that the development P.lilacinus could be divided into four stages:the first instar, the second instar, the third instar and female adult. And the development durations of these four stages were 8.40±1.01 days,11.40±1.35 days,10.80±1.41 days and7.60±1.01 days, respectively,at a rearing conditions of?26±1?%,?60±10?%?RH?and under a photoperiod of 14:10 h?light:dark?.2.Quarantine fumigation technology with gaseous phosphine on P.lilacinus.Tolerance test results showed that the tolerances of various developmental stages of P.lilacinus in descending order were:adult female>3rdd instars>2nd instars>1st instars, with adult female being the most tolerant stage at 20?.Further toxicity analysis with adult female showed that,in the 2 h,4 h,6 h and 8 h fumigation, the phosphine concentrations required to achieve LDP9 mortality were 1091.63ppm,670.22ppm,544.11ppm and 289.28ppm respectively.Verification test showed that 8h fumigation with 300ppm,600ppm and 900ppm PH3 could completely kill 44570 P.lilacinus female and instars.3.Effect of PH3 on the quality and food safety of P.lilacinus host fruits.At20?,dragon fruit were fumigated with 300 ppm,600 ppm and 900 ppm PH3 for 8 h,and quality parameters of dragon fruit and the residue of PH3 during cold storage and shelf period were determined. The results showed that PH3 fumigation had no adverse effect on soluble sugar, titration acid, firmness,VC content and color of the dragon fruit. After 2 h aeration, the residual of PH3 were extremely lower than 0.01mg?kg-1,which required by the Food Safety national Standard?GB 2763-2016?.Our result showed that gaseous PH3 fumigation could completely kill all life stages of P.lilacinus;cause no significant effect on the quality of the dragon fruit, and left no residues after 2 h aeration comparing with the Food Safety national standard. Therefore, our result supported that phosphine fumigation had a great potential in the quarantine treatment of dragon fruit, and also provided reference for the treatment of other pest, which is of great significance to ensure the smooth development`of import and export trade andhe safety of fruit production of China.
