At present, the overall slowdown of the national economic growth has put forward higher requirements for the quality of development, reducing the dependence of economic development on water resources, strengthening the matching relationship between economic development and water resource constraints, and guiding the latter to reduce the use and improve efficiency.Development is an important issue for improving the quality and efficiency of the economy, and is especially critical for water-scarce areas.Studying the relationship between water use efficiency and socio-economic development, and identifying the rules and driving factors between them are of great significance for the refined management of water use in the future.Because absolute water resources utilization efficiency is difficult to measure accurately, the research of measuring relative efficiency through related calculation methods has become an important way to measure water resources utilization efficiency. This paper sorts out the relevant literature on the impact of economic development on water resource utilization efficiency, summarizes the related research progress, and collects the water use efficiency and socioeconomic indicators of 31 provinces across the country.Firstly,it analyzes the trend of water consumption and the current level of water efficiency from three scales of national, basin and provincial administrative regions, and analyzes the relationship between water use efficiency and development level based on the economic development of national and provincial administrative regions.Secondly, according to the two types of indicators of water use efficiency and economic development, the relationship between the three sets of water use efficiency and socio-economic indicators is selected, and the correlation between the two groups is analyzed based on the provincial administrative area.According to the characteristics of data analysis, the super-efficiency DEA model in the data envelopment analysis method is used to analyze and select reasonable indicators to characterize the relative water use efficiency. The relative water use efficiency of each province from 2005 to 2017 is analyzed to study the economic development level and water use efficiency.relationship.Finally,from the four aspects of natural factors, economic factors, industrial structure and water use status, the main components analysis method is used to explore the main factors affecting the relationship between water use efficiency and socio-economic.The main results are as follows:(1)Based on statistical data, analyze the national water use situation and socio-economic status, summarize and summarize the water use and socio-economic development and historical changes in the three levels of the country, river basins and provincial administrative regions,in order to study the water use status and socio-economic Relationships provide the basis.(2)According to the correlation between the preliminary judgment of water resources utilization efficiency and the regional economic development stage and development type, the super-efficiency DEA model in the data envelopment analysis method is used to quantitatively calculate the relative efficiency of water resources utilization. The relative water efficiency of 31 provincial administrative districts has been further explored, and the country has been divided into six districts for analysis. The study found that the relative water efficiency in the northwest and southwest regions ranks at a low level in the country, and the relative water efficiency in the north China region belongs to a high level in the country.Since the calculated values are relative values, the provinces and regions influence each other. For more developed provinces and regions, their relative efficiency results fluctuate, but the actual overall water efficiency level is constantly increasing.(3)In order to explore the main factors that affect the matching between the water use status and the social economy, according to the changes in relative water use efficiency, the principal component analysis method is used to select from four aspects:natural factors, economic factors, industrial structure, and water use status. The indicators are analyzed, and the main factors are analyzed based on the annual results of water consumption and economic level of the country and some provinces, and finally the main factors that affect the matching of water use efficiency and socio-economic relations are urbanization rate,GDP per capita and total per capita.Water consumption.
