Under the circumstance of economic globalization,China's urbanization process is moving forward at an astonishing pace,and our cities are abounding with all kinds of occidental modernism and “international” styles.Lives in big cities have been confined in a formalized and cold living condition,far away from nature,and the relation among neighbors are more indifferent than ever,this way of life might be commercially beneficial,but it is against our traditional way with a significant lack in humane meaning.Given the situation,this article,focalized around Chinses traditional housing,aims to interpret the best emotional and spiritual relationship between men,building and environment in a traditional living condition.“Emotion” being our keyword,this article proceeds with the ethical relationship in the traditional living space where is hidden the warmth,the memories of the past,the poetic,livable life in which our body,mind and soul can rest.By discussing the image,the origin,the characteristics and the essence of the Chinese nation's emotion,the memory analyzes comprehensively the basic background of emotional origin in the traditional settlement space,and combines different factors from rituals,customs,natural environment,space forms,color materials to finally discover the relationship between the generation,convergence and inheritance of emotions in the traditional settlement space.On this basis,I take the example of traditional stone settlement in Pingtan,Fujian to carry out further analysis and discussion.Finally,the article combines actual cases,especially the case of stone settlement to conduct an auxiliary analysis and to call for the construction of a "warm" home.I hope that by exploring the human emotions in the traditional settlement space,my memory could provide new ideas and reference for the construction of urban settlement,as well as for the protection and renewal of traditional settlements.
