The transfer effect of video game experience has been widely used in different fields of life, such as military, medical, education and so on.The improvement of cognitive ability from the video game training can be transfer to other tasks to facilitate the completion of the task. However, when it comes to the aviation field, the promotion of the cognitive ability from video game experience has been investigated only by a small part of researchers because of the high cost of the actual flying task.In order to make up for the shortcomings of previous research and broaden the research field of video game transfer effect, this study verifies the action video game players(AVGPs)have cognitive advantage over non-video game players in terms of attention ability by controlling the influence of video game genre on video game transfer effect on the basis of horizontal research. And then the simulated flight mission performance of the two groups is compared, and it is assumed that the action video gamer(AVGPs)will have better simulated flight task performance, which shows that the attention ability advantage of the two groups can be transferred to the simulated flight task.In addition,on the basis of transfer effect, the internal mechanism of the transfer effect of the action video game is further explored. In this study, eye movement tracking technology was applied to provide a more objective indicator for deeper understanding of the cognitive changes brought about by the video game experience. So as to reveal the internal mechanism of the transfer effect of video game experience in aviation field more reasonably and perfectly. The results show that:(1)The attention quality of AVGPs was better than that of NVGPs,excepting that there was no difference in sustained attention between groups in this study;(2)AVGPs have higher visual search skill than that of NVGPs;(3)AVGPs have better simulated flight task performance. The eye movement data also reflects the more efficient visual search mode, faster information processing speed and more optimized attention distribution of AVGPs;(4)The effect of attention quality and visual search capability of the two groups on the simulated flight performance are different,AVGPs' attention ability and visual search capability have a stronger relation with the the simulated flight performance, and only the effect of the visual search capability on the simulated flight performance is found in the AVGPs group. As a result, the advantages of AVGPs in the attention quality and visual search capability can be transferred to an untrained simulated flight task, and the attention quality and visual search capability advantage of AVGPs may be important cognitive factor which could lead to its simulated flight task performance advantages, and plays an important role in the process of moving the video game experience to the simulated flight task.As a preliminary study based on the cognitive training of aviation pilots, the potential transfer effects of video game experience in simulated flight missions are confirmed based on previous studies. It broadens the study of the transfer effect of game experience in different fields. What's more innovative is that, taking attention and visual search ability as the main cognitive factors, this paper probes into the internal mechanism of transfer effect and obtains some preliminary conclusions. In addition,in order to achieve the integration of video game training into the daily training system for future aviation pilots,as a low-cost,high-efficiency,portable and easy tool to popularize training system, and thus maintain and enhance the key cognitive ability of pilots.
