The chaff is one of the radar passive interference devices widely used on the battlefield.Its main purpose is to suppress or confuse the enemy radar to cover its own combat units.The continuous development of chaff jamming technology has had a serious impact on the operational performance of battlefield radar.To combat and identify the passive interference of chaff,it is urgent to understand the characteristics of airborne motion and echo signal characteristics of chaff interference.In this context,this paper takes the battlefield chaff as the main research object,and deeply analyzes the micro-motion characteristics accompanying the chaff motion reduction and the radar echo characteristics of the chaff cloud,and proposes the micro-motion diffusion of chaff clouds and radar echo signal simulation models,and a new method for identifying chaff interference in radar altimeter applications.Firstly,this paper studies the air fretting diffusion characteristics of chaff clouds.In the dense atmosphere,the force analysis and motion equation of a single chaff under steady state are given.On this basis,based on the initial statistical state of the chaff cloud,the micro-motion diffusion model of the chaff cloud cluster is established,and a series of chaff cloud micro-motion diffusion is given by using the direct Monte-Carlo simulation method.The simulation results analyze the chaotic cloud motion diffusion characteristics under micro-motion and dynamic conditions.Secondly,this paper studies the radar echo characteristics of chaff clouds.The echo signal model of chaff cloud translation is established under three typical radar working waveforms:simple pulse,narrow band LFM and wideband LFM.The RCS statistical distribution characteristics of chaff cloud are deduced and analyzed,and chaff clouds radar echo signal model under the micro-motion conditions.Based on this,the radar echo model under the micro-motion of the chaff clouds is simulated,and the modulation effect of the micro-motion’s factor on the echo signal of the chaff cloud radar is analyzed.In addition,based on the NI-VST2.0 full-polarization radar acquisition system,the radar echo characteristics of the chaff clouds are further analyzed and verified by the echo acquisition experiment of the chaff clouds.Finally,aiming at the problem that the traditional method is not applicable,based on the chaff interference under the radar altimeter,a chaff cloud echo recognition method based on multi-layer perception(MLP)neural network is proposed and analyzed.The influence of the main parameters of the chaff and the earth on the network recognition performance is proved.The simulation results show that the method can effectively distinguish and identify the chaff interference target and other radar combat targets.
