Reading is a tool to cultivate wisdom and a window to the world.The acquisition of children’s early reading experience and the cultivation of reading habits have a vital impact on their life development."Interest" and "attraction" are the internal driving forces for the formation of children’s reading habits,so it is necessary to have a corresponding space environment to meet children’s interest psychology and attract children’s attention.Based on the urban community preschool reading space research as the theme,to children’s psychological,physiological and behavioral characteristics as a starting point,combining the theory of child psychology,sociology,pedagogy and other childhood,combined with domestic and foreign outstanding case study reading space,children’s space,as well as to the research community on the child’s parents visit to Jinan,conclude that children reading space design ideas and methods.The conclusion is applied to design practice,and the feasibility of design ideas and practicability of design methods are demonstrated through design practice.This paper innovatively defined the age of the main user of reading space as children aged 1-6,a group easily excluded by learning space,and explored the design ideas and methods of attractive reading space for children from multiple theoretical dimensions.The first part of the paper mainly introduces the background of the study on the reading space of children in the community,defines the object and scope of the study,the purpose and significance of the study,as well as the domestic and foreign related theoretical review,and lists the research methods,theoretical framework and innovation points.The second part is to analyze the problem,analysis the concept of children’s reading space and young children the relevant theory of sociology,pedagogy,psychology,childhood through multivariate theory dimension to analyze the space and the interaction of children’s psychology,behavior,by domestic and foreign successful read a space,case analysis and community kindergarten reading environment research,conclude that attractive children reading space design ideas and methods.The third part is the problem solving part,which explains the specific requirements of children’s reading space design,the division of main functional areas and the method of space element design and construction.The fourth part is the design practice.Through the design of "Yunjia Winnie Kid’s Republic",the design ideas and methods summarized are applied to practice.
