In order to realize multi-dimensional vibration isolation of sidewall-type radar,a vibration isolation platform based on parallel mechanism is proposed. The single vibration isolator bar is demanded to have bidirectional vibration isolation, limited size and weight because of the sidewall-type setup and narrow space. The vibration isolation platform proposed meet the demands of sidewall hanging with 10 ° angle of inclination, space position and multi-dimensional vibration isolation. The platform is an eight-bar passive vibration isolation equipment based on parallel mechanism, with the freedom of 6,to function multi-dimensional vibration isolation. The single bar of platform can damping the vibration not only under pressure also under tension because the platform is suspended on the wall of airplane. In addition, the platform is capable of redundant protection and large displacement protection in order to improve the reliability of airborne radar. The function for isolation of the platform is simulated under sine excitation and halfsine-wave impact excitation using software Adams. The prototype is manufactured, and is tested on the vibration test table under the load of sine and half-sine-wave impact. The results shows that the vibration isolation platform has some consistency with those from simulations and have good vibration damping performance for protecting the radar suspended vertically.
