Research And Practical Application Of Peter Walker's Minimalist Design Aesthetics

Peter Walker is a world-renowned landscape designer,created a minimalist landscape characterized by simple geometric forms,and to established the "human-person relationship" of new landscape design.On the basis of satisfying people's material use value,Peter Walker's works conveys rich connotations by means of metaphor,makes people have mystical spiritual experience,and to gets the sympathy and emotion on the space,and to shows the unique and distinct aesthetic value.This article is divided into two parts:theoretical inquiry and practical application.First of all,this paper interprets the design logic of a series of minimalist design cases from the angle of design aesthetics,and explores the logic thought of Peter Walker's minimalist design aesthetic;Secondly,based on Peter Walker's aesthetic design ideas to guide the design of case creation,the theory and the practice use each other to support each other,to discuss his minimalist design esthetics logic thought and the concrete method which applied in the landscape design in the intuitive way,and to confirm the value of the Peter Walker's minimalist design esthetics thought.The purpose is to take Peter Walker's design aesthetics as a reference,to discuss the aesthetic value of a landscape space which needs to be felt and experienced by the people at present.What kind of aesthetic feeling does it bring to people?In the theoretical part of the paper,The author is based on Peter Walker's design of the internal links between the various elements,this paper reveals the whole mechanism and activity rule of Peter Walker's minimalist design aesthetic thought system from three levels of form,atmosphere and artistic conception.First,the organizational structure of the geometric space sequence.This is not only the means of Peter Walker's minimalist design aesthetics in guiding design practice,but also the personality of its design,namely its distinguishability and identifiability from the surrounding environment;Second,the pursuit of a simple and pure atmosphere.This is not only the aesthetic measurement standard of Peter Walker's minimalist design aesthetics in design practice,but also the guarantee of its design structure organization,that is,the relation between the object and the observer and the object and the object in space or form;Third,based on the cultural conception of the site context.This is not only the level that Peter Walker's minimalist design aesthetics ultimately reaches in design practice,but also the source of its design connotation,that is,to provide viewers with a practical or emotional implication.Although they do not belong to one level,they form the "pyramid" of Peter Walker's minimalist design aesthetics as a whole,demonstrating the aesthetic pursuit of Peter Walker's minimalist design.In practical application,the paper takes Peter Walker's design aesthetics law as a criterion for design aesthetic creation,starting from the author's three scheme design,according to the content and demand of the specific design activity,organizing the material,function,modeling and structure in the whole design work flow,concretely discussing Peter Walker's minimalist design aesthetics in practice.Through the research and practical application of Peter Walker's minimalist design aesthetics,it can be learned that the structure and modeling of landscape design which meet the needs of use and aesthetics come from the combination of scientific organization and artistic expression to form a comprehensive design aesthetic thinking.Design requires the use of a variety of new technical means,design methods and artistic creation to meet the purpose and requirements of the user's multiple needs.
