The Media Logic Analysis Of China's Environmental Resistance Incidents

In recent years,the social struggle events caused by environmental pollution and ecological damage are more and more frequent.The environmental struggle has become an important issue of social struggle in China.In particular,the development of media technology and the popularization of the Internet have broadened the channels of social expression and rights protection.With the help of media logic,the public has enriched the forms of resistance and framed the behavior of resistance.This paper takes "media logic" as the core to construct the analysis framework,reviews and combs the historical evolution of Chinese environmental protest,and systematically examines how different types of media logic work together in environmental protest through the combination of multi case analysis and case analysis.First of all,this paper expounds the macro structural background of the environmental protest events in China.On this basis,the four development stages of China's environmental struggle after the founding of new China are reviewed.It is found that the change of political opportunity structure provides the possibility for the development and rise of environmental protest;the development of media technology enriches the form of environmental protest,widens the space of environmental protest.Media logic is increasingly becoming a supporting force that affects the development and change of environmental protest events.Secondly,based on the fourth stage of environmental struggle,this paper selects35 cases of environmental struggle with representativeness,diversity and easy access to case data as research samples,and explores and studies "media logic" as the driving mechanism of dominant logic acting on the event of resistance by means of multi case qualitative comparative analysis and large sample qualitative data analysis.It is found that: media use,network interaction,the framework of the weak's sadness,the framework of socialism and the framework of violating rules are the key factors that affect the environmental protest events.Among them,"media use" variable is the necessary condition for the success of environmental protest events,"the framework of the weak's sadness" variable is the sufficient condition for the success of environmental protest events.Specifically speaking,for the environmental protest events,the technical logic and content logic of the media have more influence than the system logic,can play a key role in the environmental protest movement,and even can affect the trend of environmental protest,and finally make the environmental protest results tend to the protesters,while the media system logic in the environmental protest is more as an explanatory variable,not as an explanatory variable The role of determining the direction of resistance.It is also noted that the influence of media content logic and technology logic is embedded in,rather than independent of,the political system.Finally,this paper selects the PX event in Xiamen,which is the milestone of environmental protection movement,as a case study,and analyzes the research results obtained from multiple case studies,presenting the relevant mechanisms and functions of media technology logic,content logic and system logic in environmental struggle.Research and development: Media Technology empowerment enablescitizens' right to know,supervise,participate and express in the environment to return;the use of interpretation framework and content logic greatly improves the "publicity" quality of environmental protest;media links "state" and "society" through institutional logic,providing a flexible space for environmental protest.In addition,the framing and establishment of the significance of media confrontation provides the possibility for the exploration of the ideal model of citizen democratic participation,which echoes the tide of global media democratization.
