The conventional activated sludge treatment plant is difficult to meet the increasingly serious sewage treatment requirements in multi-functions,high stability and economical aspects.So it has become an important subject in the engineering field of water pollution control over the world to develop,investigate and apply a new high efficient wastewater biological treatment plant.In order to design a new type of high efficient aerobic activated sludge treatment plant,this subject was mainly investigated in the device designed,processed and actually used of wastewater treatment.Finally,a new type of high efficient aerobic activated sludge treatment plant was successfully developed.To study a new type of high efficient aerobic activated sludge treatment plant treating simulated wastewater,COD was treated as the main indicators in the experimental research.In the final effluent,the COD would be meet the "GB8978-1996" A Level standard for reference.The effects of the operating parameters on the treatment efficiency were investigated through continuous injection.Besides,it was the main basis for analyzing the high performance of the new type of high efficient aerobic activated sludge treatment plant to compare with the conventional aerobic activated sludge treatment plant in the laboratory.The main research results are as follows:(1)The most optimum MLSS of the new treatment plant was 3000 mg/L,in this sludge concentration,sludge retention ability,shock resistant capacity is higher,and the removal rate of COD was higher than others that the sludge concentration was 1000 mg/L and 5000 mg/L.(2)In condition of the optimum MLSS,the maximum volume load of the new device is 2.69 kgCOD/(m3·d),and when the volume load is higher than 2.69 kgCOD/(m3·d)to 3.24 kgCOD/(m3·d),the limit of the volume of the device is exceeded.(3)During the operation of this new plant,the activated sludge will form three different concentration gradients in the device to achieve the theoretical conjecture of sludge gradient in the same device.In this device,the concentration of organic matter decreases from bottom to top.The study found that this device can achieve high concentration of activated sludge environment to deal with high concentrations of organic wastewater,low concentration of activated sludge environment to deal with low concentrations of organic wastewater,with good microbial functional zoning,and effluent COD complianced.(4)The comparative experiments show that this new aerobic activated sludge treatment plant does have a certain high efficiency.
