With the research on two-photon absorption people find it has excellent 3D processing capacity and spatial resolution,now the two-photon absorption has been great development in biology,physics,medicine,etc.Organic two-photon absorption materials is a hot research topic in three-dimensional optical data storage.Synthesis of simple steps and high two-photon absorption properties of the material has more application value and research significance.In this paper,eleven 2-methyl-1,8-naphthyl derivatives have been synthesized.Their structures were characterized by the measurements of elemental analyses,IR,1H NMR,and MS.At the same time,the reaction time,temperature,solvent and condensing agent of Knoevenagel condensation have been discussed.The single-photon optical properties of the eleven 2-methyl-1,8-naphthyl derivatives in DMF solution have been measured including the electronic absorption spectrum,fluorescence spectrum,fluorescence quantum yield and fluorescence lifetime.The influence of 2-methyl-1,8-naphthyl derivatives by the characteristics of the molecular structure were analysised.The two-photon fluorescence excited 120 fs pulse at 800nm Ti:sapphire laser operating at 1 kHz repetition rate was observed for the new material in PMMA films.The two-photon absorption cross section was calculated.We successfully achieved the two-photon three-dimensional four-layer optical information storage with new material in PMMA films as a recording medium.It shows the important application in the three-dimensional ultra-high density data storage for this type of new materials.
