Research On The Operational Efficiency Of Major Airports In Southwest China Based On The DEA Method

Nowadays it is an era of economic globalization and an era of speedy economy that needs to respond quickly to the needs of the market.With its efficient operation mode,air transport enables the global economy and all kinds of industrial clusters to converge rapidly in the spatial scope.However,the development of the airport will inevitably become an important driving force for expanding the economic space and will be closer to the needs of the times.Five provinces(autonomous regions and municipalities)in GUIZHOU,SICHUAN,CHONGQING,YANNAN and Tibet are located in the inland areas of southwest China.In contrast,their economic development lags behind.However,with the establishment and promotion of national strategies such as the "Belt and Road" and the development of the Yangtze River economic belt,Southwest region as a node of the relevant strategies also ushered in a good opportunity for leaps and bounds.As the important means of foreign exchange in Southwest China,relying on the operation of airport,civil aviation industry should naturally seize the opportunity and escort the advance of relevant strategies.This paper first introduces the theoretical basis of the research and briefly introduces the concept of efficiency.It explains the basic principles of Data Envelopment Analysis and DEA-Malmquist index method and Tobit regression analysis method,The characteristics of the development of transport industry,select14 high production level in Southwest China's airports and adjacent Xi'an Airport,NANNING Airport two provincial airports as the research object,then establish the input-output index system.Static Efficiency Analysis of Panel Data of 16 Sample Airports by Data Envelopment Analysis.The productivity of 16 airports from 2014 to2017 is then analyzed dynamically based on the Malmquist index method.Finally,Tobit regression analysis is used to further analyze the factors that affect the productivity changes of the major airports in Southwest China.According to the results of the three methods of empirical research on the major airports in Southwest China,the paper analyzes all aspects of the operational efficiency of the airport in detail,and puts forward suggestions for improvement based on the actual situation.Finally,summarize the shortcomings of this study and the expectations of similar research in the future.
