Ungauged areas study has been the focus of recent hydrological research. The Sino-Russian transboundary aquifer in the middle and lower reaches of Heilongjiang(Amur)River(“the Transboundary Aquifer” below)matters the water resource of Chinese and Russian living by as a world-famous transboundary aquifer.Assessment of groundwater resources is the basis to study it.Data collection and management in ungauged area are carried out by the analysis of hydrogeological characteristics of the Transboundary Aquifer.Data collection was achieved through the academic exchange platform of Heilongjiang(Amur)River Basin between China and Russia. As a result, the ungauged data were reduced to 3 of the 8 indicators which describes an aquifer..Regionalization method is used to determine the initial values of precipitation infiltration coefficient while aquifer thickness and fixed head worked out through interpolation. The hydrogeological conceptual model and mathematical model are established based on regional characteristic analysis.By realizing the boundary type, zoning the hydrogeological parameters and other basic data of the simulation area, source and sink items are collated and calculated. After constructing and verification of the numerical model, the groundwater resources in this area were evaluated and calculated through numerical simulation. The groundwater resources in each area were obtained and the total groundwater resources in this area were calculated to be 21.88 billion cubic meters.
