| Cropping is the foundation of agricultural development.Increasing the economic benefit of agricultural products is a key approach to increase the economic income of the peasants.Situated in HeXi Corridor,Shandan County faces water shortage,and ecosystem extremely fragile.Optimizing the cropping structure,developing regional advantages,excavating agricultural yield-increasing potential and increasing the economic benefit of agricultural products are a necessary path to realize sustainable development of agriculture in Shandan County.The paper analyzed the current situation of cropping structure in Shandan County and the changes in the economic benefits of its main agricultural products.The paper put forward the countermeasures and suggestions that of the structure adjustment of the cropping industry and agricultural development in the county.The main conclusions can be drawn as follows:（1）The significant changes have taken place in the structure of agricultural cultivation in Shandan County from 1997 to 2017.Meanwhile,the proportion of grain and cash reduced to 6.30%,3.14%of the total grain planting area respectively,while forage crop planting area rose 9.43%.Wheat,corn,beer barley and potato are the main grain crops in Shandan County.Rapeseed,flax and soybean are the main economic crops in Shandan County.The wheat planting area has ranked first in the county's main food crops in the past 20 years.Between 1997 to 2007,the planting area of beer barley was ranked second among the main grain crops in the county,while the potato in Shandan County became the second largest grain crop following the wheat after 2007.（2）The plant acreage and yield per unit area of grain and cash crops showed a significant difference in Shandan County from 1997 to 2017.The output per unit area of grain crops and cash crops in Shandan County are increasing year by year.The output per unit area of potato in the county increased by 1.10 times during this period.Wheat,as the largest grain crop in Shandan County,its production per unit area was increased steadily yearly,with an increase of 62.04 kg·hm-2.Besides,the maize yield per unit area showed an annual increasing trend from 2009 to 2013,with an average annual increase of 359.18 kg·hm-2.In the past 5 years,the per unit yield of beer barley was increased year by year,with an increase rate of 3.23%.The average increase rate of rape yield from 2010 to 2017 was 21.88%,while that of flax and soybean was steadily increased from 2012 to 2017 by 9.50%and 21.40%,respectively.（3）The agricultural product cost and economic return of wheat,beer barley and rape in Shandan County have changed greatly from 2015 to 2017.Compared with2015,the total production cost of wheat was decreased yearly by 19.24%in 2017,the total production cost of beer barley was decreased yearly by 19.40%,the total production cost of rape was decreased yearly by 16.26%,of which the ratio of land cost was the largest.Between 2015 to 2017,compared with wheat and rape,the average output value of beer barley in Shandan County was higher.The average net profit of the three crops were 37212.27yuan·hm-2,42911.90 yuan·hm-2and 33418.47yuan·hm-2.The above data tell us that the economic benefit of beer barley cultivation was highest.（4）This paper analyzed the main problems in the development of planting industry in Shandan County,including water shortage due to bad natural conditions;urgent improvement of labor quality due to extensive and manual labor type;single crop,and no scale advantage due to low tech and low industrialization level;no influential,high-quality and efficient brand due to lack of awareness of cultivating local brands.It also offers the countermeasures and suggestions of promoting the economic benefit of agricultural economy in Shandan County:First,they can set up an efficient and water-saving circular model of agricultural industry development;secondly,improve the agricultural production service team quality from extensive and manual labor force to technical and professional type,and increase the scientific and technological content of agricultural products;thirdly,create superior agricultural products with local characteristics;fourthly,development and ecotourism combined with agricultural production development model.actively adjust the structure of planting industry and take the road of large scale. |
