The power system is one of the most important,largest and most complex man-made projects in modern society.Although the various links under the system are connected to each other but relatively independent,each has different functions.And the voltage level,core technology and key equipment of them also have significant differences.With the development of the global economy,the demand for electric energy in the world is getting stronger and stronger,and the demand for upgrading the power grid is becoming more and more urgent,which also brings huge business opportunities to power equipment companies.In the context of economic globalization,the state strongly encourages Chinese companies to go abroad to participate in the international competition,explore and implement international operations.MY company is a large domestic power equipment manufacturing enterprise with a total asset size of over 1 billion yuan.The switch gear,power electronics and automation devices,transformers and other products with medium and low voltage grades(35kV and below)are the main products of MY.MY company has maintained steady growth for many years.However,as the country began to optimize the power and energy structure in recent years,controlling the total installed capacity of power generating units,especially thermal power generating units.And also because of the excessive investment in power construction in previous years,the overcapacity of medium and low voltage power equipment in the domestic power market is serious.Competition is heating up.MY company begans to try to deploy overseas markets and transform into an international business.Based on the research of internationalization theory and the working practice,this paper summarizes the current internationalization status and existing problems of MY company.It sorts out the current situation of domestic and international power industry;and adopts SLEPT and value chain model,SWOT and other analytical methods to analyzed the current advantages and disadvantages of MY company,the opportunities and threats that MY is facing in the process of internationalization;and then did analyzation by using the relevant theories of the enterprise internationalization process to find the international strategic direction for the company.Point out in different stages of internationalization,companies should adopt different strategies,so they should adjust their strategic priorities timely according to environmental changes.In the end,came up with the main guarantee measures necessary for the successful implementation of the international development strategy from the aspects of organizational structure,human resource management,risk management and other enterprise management.
