Present Situation Of Tree Peony Planting In Minhe County And Suggestions For Its Development

Tree peony belongs to section Moutan of the genus Paeonia in the family Paeoniaceae,and It is an important ornamental flower and medicinal plant in China.In recent years,the seed oil of tree peony was to found be rich in alpha-linolenic acid(>40%),and was promoted to be planted as a new type of woody oil crops.Minhe county has a long history of tree peony cultivation,home farming is widespread.This article investigated tree peony planting present situation,summarized the existing cultivation management technology in Minhe county.Besides,this paper also analyzed the problems existing in the development of tree peony and gave some suggestions on the development of tree peony in Minhe county.This paper takes Minhe county as an example to explore the future direction of tree peony cultivation in China.1.The cultivation and distribution of tree peony were found in Minhe county.Among them,Paeonia ostii ‘Fengdan' were widly planted in xigou township nanyuan village(700 mu)and gangou township jiefang village(800 mu).In addition,more than 1000 ornamental tree peonies were found in the middle of Minhe county,which belongs to the northwest tree peony cultivars group with colourful petal.2.The existing cultivation and management techniques in Minhe county include seed propagation,plant division propagation and grafting reproduction.At the same time,there are corresponding management measures for adult tree peony(five years old or more).The survey also found that the rhizome is the susceptible part of tree peony to diseases and insect pests.3.Although Minhe county has a long history of tree peony planting,mass cultivation has a solid foundation,but the cultivars are still dominated by the traditional ones,due to the lack of new varieties of promotion and application.In addition,tree peony is hardly used in the urban landscape of Minhe county,so that their own cultural characteristics are not reflected,which is also an important factor restraining the development of tree peony in Minhe county.4.Although there is a certain planting area of oil-used peony,there are still problems such as insufficient understanding and low planting management level,which lead to slow development of oil-used peony industry.The following industry chain of oil peony is not complete,and the related supporting facilities are also not complete.According to the above investigation status and existing problems,this text puts forward the following development countermeasure:make full use of peony as medicinal and ornamental value,communicate with the outside world,introduction of new fine varieties,create a good market atmosphere.In addition,according to the advantage of peony seed oil rich linolenic acid,comprehensive development of edible oil and health care products and other entire industrial chain.In the end,form for the benefit of the people,drive the rural market peony comprehensive production and development system,romote the development of peony industry.
