Research On The Income Growth Effect From Agriculture Technique Extension

The issue of Agriculture,Rural Areas and Farmers has always been a fundamental issue related to the development of the national economy,and it is also a very important work for the whole country.The Central Document No.1 issued for the 15 consecutive years from 2004 to 2018 was based on the theme of Agriculture,Rural Areas and Farmers,and clearly stated that the issue of Agriculture,Rural Areas and Farmers played a key role in promoting economic and social development.Increasing farmers' income,the most difficult part of the issue of Agriculture,Rural Areas and Farmers,has always been a hot topic for scholars.China is a big agricultural country,and it is not enough to rely solely on expanding the area of arable land and increasing human input to increase farmers' income,it is relying on innovations in agriculture technology that can strongly increasing farmers' income.To disseminate the latest agricultural scientific research results to agricultural producers and apply these new agricultural technologies and achievements to agricultural production and transform latest agricultural research results from potential productivity to direct real productivity,it is necessary to rely on agriculture technology extension.So,can agriculture technology extension really increase farmers' income? This is also the question that this study wants to answer.Firstly,it is used as the theoretical basis that the Agriculture Technology Extension Framework Theory,Agriculture Innovation Diffusion Theory,Farmer Behavior Change Theory,and New Growth Theory.Based on the provincial panel data and Yulin farmers' research data,this paper used the Fixed Effect Model and Linear Regression Model to empirically analyze the effect of agriculture technology extension on farmers' income from the macro and micro level.Secondly,this paper analyzes the factors that limit the agriculture technology extension to increase income.At the macro level,we find the factors that limit the agriculture technology extension to increase income by analyzing the current situation of China's agriculture technology extension from the type,the functions and the funding status of agriculture technology extension organization.At the micro level,we find the factors that limit the watersaving irrigation technology extension to increase income by analyzing the factors affecting farmers' adoption of the water-saving irrigation technology.The main conclusions are as follows.Firstly,both at the macro and micro level,agriculture technology extension has a significant effect on increasing farmers' income.Secondly,at the macro level,agriculture technology extension has a significantly positive effect on farmers' income.The biochemical agriculture technology extension has a more significant effect on increasing farmers' income than mechanical agriculture extension.The area of cultivated land,average years of education,urbanization rate,and rural household investment in fixed assets have a significantly positive effect on farmers' income.Biochemical agriculture technology extension and the mechanical agriculture technology extension have different effects on farmers' income in different regions.The biochemical agriculture technology extension has a significantly positive effect on farmers' income in the eastern and central regions.The mechanical agriculture technology has a significantly positive effect on farmers' income in the central region.The effect of the area of cultivated land,average years of education,urbanization rate,and rural household investment in fixed assets on farmers' income was significantly positive in three regions,and individual indicators were different.Thirdly,at the micro level,the extension of water-saving irrigation technology has a significantly positive effect on farmers' farming income and total household income;the influence of the gender of householder and number of household agricultural labor on farmers' farming income and total household income is negative,the education level and whether the householder is the village cadre have a positive effect on farmer's farming income and total household income,but none of them passed the significance test;the age of householder has a significantly negative effect on total household income;the effect of the total cultivated area on farmer's farming income and total household income is significantly positive.Fourthly,At the macro level,the following limiting factors,the system and mechanism is not smooth,and the funding is insufficient;agriculture technical achievements is unbalanced between supply and demand;poor team structure of agriculture technology extension and poor quality of agriculture technicians;backward extension concepts and outdated extension methods,exist in the agriculture technology extension increasing farmers' income.At micro level,farmers' low cultural standards and narrow social networks,poor access to information,lack of household agricultural labor force,farmers' poor understanding of water-saving irrigation technologies,inadequate government subsidies for the use of water-saving irrigation technologies and the lack of public awareness of water-saving irrigation technology are the main limiting factors affecting the extension of water-saving irrigation technology.Finally,this paper puts forward recommendations for promoting China's agriculture technology extension as follows.Innovating the management system mechanism of agriculture technology extension organizations,improving the overall quality of agriculture technology extension teams and farmers,comprehensively using agriculture technology extension methods,strengthening the policy and financial support to agriculture technology extension,to carry out agriculture technology extension work according to the place and time.
