The widespread use of fossil fuels lead to many environmental and climatic problems,and the oil shortage impedes the socio-economic development at the same time,hence many centuries are trying hard to adjust the energy industry,taking the utilization of biomass energy as one promising solution.Bio-oil is an environment-friendly and renewable fuel.The utilization of bio-oil does not have additional carbon emissions compared with traditional fossil fuel,and the development of energy plants can not only reduce China's oil dependence but also leading to a good ecological environment.Marginal land refers to the transitional area of two or more heterogeneous land systems,whose ecological environment is poor and anti-interference ability is weak,but can be used for plants with strong resistance.Planting energy plants on marginal land can be an effective way to meet energy needs and increase the sustainability of economy and environmentThe land use data are acquired via visual-interpretation of remote images in the year 2000,2006,2013 and 2017.Given the specific topography and climate of the Three Gorges Reservoir?TGR?,Cerasus humilis,Cornus wilsoniana,Jatropha curcas L.,Pistacia chinensis,Panicum virgatum and Miscanthus,are selected as target energy plants.Mechanism method was chosen to calculate the potential photosynthetic productivity.Plantation suitability is determined by the spatial analysis of soil property data.Combining plantation suitability with photosynthetic productivity,a spatial distribution of energy enterprises that based on energy plants are obtained.The conclusions are:?1?Marginal lands in the TGR is rich with an area of more than 1000km2,which content to about 70%of the area of farmland of the TGR.The marginal land is concentrated under the elevation of 1140m,the marginal land decreases as elevation increases.The marginal lands are mostly distributed in areas with a>25°slope.There are about 1000km2 of marginal lands in the5-15°zone,over 4000km2 in the 5-15°zone and>25°zone,respectively.Spatially,the marginal lands concentrated in the middle part of the TGR and decrease outward.?2?Yunyang County,Kai County,Fengjie County,Wuxi County and Wanzhou District poses areas of highest photosynthetic potential.Fuling District,Wulong County,Fengdu County,Shizhu County,Zhong County,Wushan County and Badong County poses the areas of middle photosynthetic potential.Areas of low photosynthetic potential are overlapped with the flatland of the TGR,indicates that marginal land is of low competitively with other land use types.?3?The annual productivity of energy plants on marginal lands is unevenly distributed.Yunyang County and Kai County have an over 6 million tons productivity,Fengjie County and Wanzhou District have over 4 million,Chongqing City and Wuxi County have over 3 million,Zhong County,Shizhu County,Fengdu County,Wulong County,Jiangjin District,Wushan County and Badong County are about 2 million,while Changshou District,Yichang City,Zigui County and Xingshan County are less than 1 million.?4?The exploitability of energy plants can be divided into 4 groups:Yunyang County and Kai County rank 1st,Wanzhou District and Fengjie County the 2nd,Chongqing City,Wuxi County,Wulong County,Wushan County,Fuling District,Fengdu County and Shizhu County the 3rd,other's the 4th.?5?Miscanthus has the highest exploitability and content for 42.27%of the total productivity,Cornus wilsoniana,Jatropha curcas L,Cerasus humilis,and each has 15.67%?15.80%and 19.55%of the total productivity,Panicum virgatum has the lest content,6.71%,of the total productivity.?6?The exploitability of energy plants is agglomerated distributed in the TGR.Fengjie County,Kai County,Wanzhou District,Zhong County,Shizhu County,Fengdu County,Fuling District,Wulong County and Wuxi County have high exploitability.Yichang City,Changshou District,Wanzhou District and Yunyang County are not suitable for energy plants'exploitation,while all other counties/districts are capable of energy plants'exploitation.
