Abstract/Summary:
Nowadays,contractors are required to provide customer satisfaction of products or services,but also to guarantee the health and safety of employees and local residents,to protect the local ecological environment,and to socially responsible attitude towards business and grow in the course of performance.The performance of social responsibility has become one of the core elements of the enterprise capability in the gradual localization process of foreign contractors in China.Therefore,this study aims to investigate factors of Chinese contractor social responsibility maturity,and analysis advantages and disadvantages of Chinese contractor cooperations.Through comprehensively concluding the growth pattern of famous international contractors and the development law of corporate social responsibility of Health,Safety and Environment(CSR/HSE),the CM3-CSR Maturity Model and ISO-26000 are studied,and the statistic analysis is applied on both evaluation result and real performance level of social responsibility maturity of case companies to examine the development situation of corporate social responsibility.Moreover,by benchmarking with the global best practice benchmarking,we try to find main factors of social responsibility maturity of Chinese contractors,and find common advantages and disadvantages of Chinese contractors.And the development strategy suggestions are put forward based on social responsibility.First of all,the growth pattern of famous international contractors and the development law of CSR/HSE are founded by researching the overall growth history of international well-known contractors.Then,the development context of corporate social responsibility theory is detailed,the advancement of the corporate social responsibility effecting on the competitiveness of enterprises is cleared,and the capability of the corporate social responsibility fulfilment is the core of soft power of modern contractors.Furthermore,by studying the development track of the general CSR/HSE development trajectory and international well-known contractor CSR/HSE,this study obtained the experiences wich are worth to be learned deeply.Secondly,this study is based on the core idea of CM3-CSR model and ISO-26000,by adopting the method of questionnaire survey,the maturity of the Chinese contractors is evaluated.Based on CSR/HSE benchmarking framework,the social responsibility management maturity is analyzed statistically,and is benchmarked with the global best practice.We try to find main factors of corporate social responsibility of Chinese contractors and their common advantages and disadvantages by analyzing the result.Finally,this study proposes the development strategy of contractors based on CSR/HSE.For the CSR/HSE promotion strategy,the leadership can play a role in two aspects: the first one is determining the CSR/HSE improvement direction;the second one is fully integrating into the workforce.For the cultivation of CSR/HSE culture,6 aspects are advised for managers,i.e.,rules of influence,model,navigation,priority,core circle and adaptation.In addition,this study also gives suggestions for the function transformation of government for the promotion of enterprise CSR/HSE capability.The research achievements of this study include: 1)the international well-known contractor growth mode and the ability to CSR/HSE development rules review;2)corporate social responsibility management maturity degree evaluation and analysis;3)Chinese contractors development strategy based on CSR/HSE.
