Hefei Metropolitan Area has been incorporated into the City Cluster of the Yangtze River Delta according to “The Development Plan of the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration”.Hefei is the center city for the development of exhibition industry in Anhui Province. In recent years, the exhibition industry of Hefei has developed rapidly, but its position in the Yangtze River Delta region is not prominent.Compared with Nanjing and Hangzhou, there is still a large gap in development,so it is extremely necessary to explore the innovation and development of the Hefei exhibition industry. In addition, the proposal of the Hefei metropolitan area will have an impact on the adjacent Nanjing metropolitan area.“The development plan of the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration” proposes that the Nanjing metropolitan area should promote the integration and development of the Hefei metropolitan area,so it is of great strategic significance to actively explore the coordinated development of Hefei and Nanjing industries. The exhibition industry is an important industry for the modernization of the city, and it is also an advantageous industry that forms a joint force for the development of the metropolitan area and enhances regional influence. The exhibition industry should actively exert its economic driving effect and platform value, and promote the Hefei metropolitan area to integrate into the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration. This article compares and analyzes the competitive power of Hefei and Nanjing exhibition industry from the perspective of exhibition industry. The main content includes three aspects: First, build a comparative model of urban exhibition industry competitiveness based on the GEM model framework, and then construct a comparative index system based on the comparative model;secondly, according to the comparative model, qualitatively analyze the competitiveness of Hefei and Nanjing exhibition industry, and according to the comparative index system, quantitatively analyze the competitiveness of Hefei and Nanjing exhibition industry, including comprehensive, horizontal and vertical comparisons; Finally, measure the coupling coordination degree between Hefei and Nanjing Exhibition Industry based on the coupling coordination model. The purpose of this article is that Hefei exhibition industry relies on existing conditions and potential conditions how to achieve the new development and new breakthroughs, and how to achieve the coordination and development of Hefei and Nanjing exhibition industry.According to qualitative comparative analysis and empirical comparative analysis,it is concluded that there is a big gap between Hefei and Nanjing in the competitiveness of Exhibition Industry, especially in terms of “enterprises”.The development level of Hefei Exhibition Industry is low,and the development level of Nanjing Exhibition Industry is high, with strong competitive advantages. And the coupling coordination degree of Hefei Exhibition Industry was lower than that of Nanjing.Based on the results of comparative research, this paper proposes some suggestions for improving the development level of Hefei exhibition industry and the coordinated development of Hefei and Nanjing exhibition industry.First of all,Hefei should pay attention to enhancing market players' strength, fostering more brand exhibitions and promoting the collaborative development of the exhibition industry.Second,Hefei and Nanjing should promote and strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the aspects of holding promotion meetings,co-organizing exhibitions, formulating coordinated development plans, and establishing integrated development mechanisms.
