A Study On The Spatial Pattern Of ASEAN Countries' Urban System Based On The Night-light Data

The spatial structure of urban system is the distribution,connection and combination state of the city in space,which is the inevitable result of the choice of human activity location.The perfect urban system can continuously optimize the spatial and temporal resources of each city and strengthen the agglomeration effect of regional cities,can effectively promote the maximization of regional sustainable development and urban comprehensive benefits.The study of urban spatial structure can measure the interaction between cities in the urban system.As an economy,analyze ASEAN Countries' spatial structure of its urban system,which is of great significance for strengthening cooperation between China and ASEAN and enhancing regional competitiveness.Analyze the current situation of urban population structure,and analyze the spatial structure base on the night light data of ASEAN Countries' urban system.Using DMSP/OLS,NPP/VIIRS night light data to study the urban system of ASEAN Countries,choose 2002,2007,2012 and 2015,four years of remote sensing data for analysis.On the basis of summarizing the theoretical and empirical results of domestic and foreign scholars,select 294 cities from ASEAN Countries as the research objects.using urban primacy,rank-size rule,second order clustering,urban gravity model and kernel density analysis,comprehensive analysis the spatial structure of 294 cities in ten ASEAN countries' urban system.The results mainly include as follow:(1)In terms of population size structure,Regardless of whether it crosses administrative boundaries,The ASEAN Countries mainly formed seven cluster regions centered on Yangon,Bangkok,Ho chi minh,Hanoi,Singapore,Jakarta and Manilla.The urban spatial relation shows the multi-core structure and looks like a “V”.Yangon,Bangkok,Singapore,Ho chi minh,Jakarta,Manilla and Hanoi are the core areas of external radiation and agglomeration of the whole ASEAN region,the urban population potential are outstanding.(2)Based on night light data,2002,2007,2012 and 2015,this four years,the spatial gravitational field of Bangkok,Singapore,Jakarta and Manila have a space that covers almost the entire asean city system.The city is connected in the space to present four clusters,The northwestern region is centered in Bangkok,the central region is centered in Singapore,The southern region is centered in Jakarta,the northeast region is centered in Manila,Bangkok,Singapore,Jakarta and Manila play an obvious dominant role in the ASEAN city system.From 2002 to 2015,the spatial relationship of the ASEAN urban system is increasingly complex,and the space gravity of each node is expanding.The central position of the first-level node is prominent,the urban level is more distinct,and the urban spatial relation is the multi-core structure and looks like a "E".(3)Comprehensive comparative the results of urban spatial correlation and potential,analysis,It was found that the clustering effect in Hanoi,Ho chi minh and Yangon based on population data was more obvious than that based on the night light data.The spatial clustering in Bangkok,Singapore and Jakarta is more prominent.based on the spatial connection analysis of night light data.But on the whole,the main centers of the ASEAN Countries are the same,It is mainly concentrated in Yangon,Bangkok,Ho chi minh,Hanoi,Singapore,Jakarta and Manila.(4)The spatial structure of the ASEAN Countries urban system is shows Spatial pattern of a main center,multiple secondary center,All citys distribution present Multi-core structure.A main center,scilicet Singapore is the main centre,multiple secondary center,scilicet Bangkok,Yangon,Ho chi minh,Hanoi,Jakarta,Manila and other regional node cities.Bangkok,Singapore,Jakarta,Yangon,Ho chi minh,Hanoi and Manila play an obvious dominant role in the ASEAN urban system.Singapore has an obvious geographical advantage,and with super comprehensive development strength,leader of the economic,cultural and social development of the whole ASEAN,as the core city of the first level.
