| With the increasing importance of talents for an enterprise in competition,enterprises are paying more and more attention to the tremendous impact of high rate of employee turnover on them.A united effort are being making to put forward effective strategies to retain employees and reduce the rate of employee turnover in academic circle and enterprises.At present,the relationship between different leadership styles and employee turnover intention is one of the hot issues in the leadership studies.However,there is still a lot of inconsistencies in the conclusion of the research on the relationship between different leadership styles and employee turnover intention among various scholars.Based on the above considerations,Further clarification shall be made to the relationship between different leadership styles and employee turnover intention,and a comprehensive assessment shall be taken on the role of different leadership styles.Although there was no consistent conclusion drawn from the previous research on the relationship between different leadership styles and employee turnover intention,but these studies did not provide data support for the development from meta-analysis.Meta-analysis can combine multiple studies of the same research topic together for statistical processing.Under this method,the number of statistical samples are increased and the result obtained will be closer to the real situation.This article attempts to use the meta-analysis to respectively analyze the impact of various types of leadership styles on employee turnover intention.Through the metaanalysis of 29 effective literatures containing 16117 samples(authentic leadership style 2837 samples,ethical leadership style 2873 samples,servant leadership style 1516 samples,transactional leadership style 2126 samples,transformational leadership style 6765 samples),it was found that there is a negative correlation between each leadership style and intention of resignation,among which the relationship between servant leadership style and turnover intention(r=-0.43,P<0.01)is the strongest;followed by the relationship between ethical leadership style and turnover intention(r=-0.31,P<0.01);the relationship between transformational leadership style and turnover intention(r=-0.29,P<0.01);the relationship between authentic leadership style and turnover intention(r=-0.23,P<0.01);and the relationship between transactional leadership style and turnover intention(r=-0.09,P<0.01)is the weakest.Its funnel plots and fail factor of safety also certified the reliability of the above results of meta-analysis,there is no obvious publication bias.What the innovation of the paper is the usage of the meta analysis method to summarize and analyze the influence of different leadership styles on employee turnover intention,and draw out its size and difference of different types of leadership styles on employee turnover intention.Besides,it gets that which type of leadership style has a positive impact on employee turnover intention and which type of leadership style has a negative impact on employee turnover intention.On the basis of getting the qualified relevant literature data,this paper has discussed the influence of different leadership styles on employee turnover intention to provide the profitable theoretical and practical basis for further research. |
