The Strategical Management Of Botnet Attacks On Bank Systems And Companies-a Case Study-Gcb Bank Of Ghana

The importance of effective strategic management cannot be over emphasized.The process provides a sense of direction on desired future.Successful organizations recognize the importance of strategy as a tool in management and realize that their survival is dependent on how well they adopt good strategies that will help respond to changes in their environment.Botnets have come a long way since their inception a few decades ago.Originally toy programs written by network hobbyists,modern-day botnets can be used by cyber criminals to steal billions of dollars from users,corporations,and governments.In this paper,will look at botnet features,how it works,attacks and detection strategies from some research papers,supplemented by a few additional sources.The purpose of the study was to establish and document strategical management of Botnet attacks on GCB Bank of Ghana.This research was conducted through a case study.Primary data was by interview.Secondary data was obtained through literature reviews on the subject of study.The study also established that continuous scanning of the environment is critical in strategic management to assist the organization understand thechanges in the business environment.The result of the study are limited to the scope of the study as this was a case study on the bank and therefore further research is recommended on other banks so as to get comprehensive information on practices of strategic management of botnet attacks as huge threat in the banking industry.
