The steady development of Chinese economy makes people's living standard improve gradually,and a series of measures,such as free passage on statutory holidays,etc.,make the tourism industry develop rapidly.Not only the increase in domestic tourists,Chinese culture and tourism attracted a number of foreign tourists.With the rapid development of tourism,the hotel industry,one of the three pillars of tourism,sees unlimited business opportunities.Star hotels need to provide services that can meet the needs of customers in many aspects.In view of this diversified and comprehensive service characteristics,cost control is more complex than that of economical hotels.As an old four-star hotel in Enshi,Y opened for a long time and its equipment is outmoded and operating costs are high.Coupled with the launch of anti-corruption policies in 2012,the "three public funds”cut sharply,making Y have no competitive advantage.In order to re-establish competitive position,the hotel has implemented cost control,but with little effect.Therefore,it is very important to explore a cost control road for hotel development.In recent years,value chain theory is mostly used in the research of cost management in the manufacturing industry,logistics industry,etc.,and its application research in the hotel field is very few,and few application studies on the cost control of the high end hotel similar to Y hotel.This article is suitable for the cost control model of the Y hotel.This article bases on the business strategy and analyzes the value chain inside and outside.The purchase link,the service link and the sales link are the important links to connect the value chain inside and outside.The first chapter of this paper introduces the background of the topic,research methods and value chain cost control related literature.The second chapter introduces the theoretical basis of value chain cost control.The third chapter finds the hotel is lack of supervision,quantitative criteria and warehouse management lack of regulation;service chain dining and beverage lack of cost control and room expenditure unreasonable;sales link is difficult to pay back and informatization is weak.In order to solve the above problems.Chapter 4 suggests that the procurement process should be standardized,the hotel suppliers should be strictly controlled,and the professional purchasing personnel should be trained,and the service link should be managed by 5S to increase the specialization of the service link,set up standard cost,form strategic alliance,perfect marketing business with information.Human resources,corporate culture,organizational structure,rules and regulations,information system and other measures are put forward to guarantee the cost control of Y Hotel based on value chain in chapter 5.
