Research On The Relationship Between Foreign Trade,FDI And Vientiane Economic Growth

Since Laos' s economic reform,the economy has experienced rapid growth for more than 20 years.In particular,Lao's accession to the World Trade Organization,the ASEAN Economic Community,Laos' s foreign trade and foreign direct investment has been developing rapidly.The economies of major cities in Laos have significant development achievements.Vientiane is the capital of Laos and center of the political,economic and cultural of the country.It is the pillar of Laos' s economic development.Its economic development directly determines the overall economic growth of Laos.However,in the past studies,the research literature on the influential factors of economic growth in Vientiane is very few and only elaborates and illustrates from the simple statistics.In addition,the factors that affect the economic growth of a country or region are complex and with different natural conditions,As well as the economic environment,combined with different economic theories and analysis have different conclusions.Therefore,it is very necessary to systematically study the influential factors of Vientiane's economic growth.The findings not only provide a comprehensive understanding of the sources of Vientiane's economic growth,but also help to understand the overall economic performance of Laos.This thesis is divided into six chapters.(1)The author discussed the topic background,the significance,the domestic and foreign literature review,and induces the research content,the innovative points of the thesis.(2)Based on the statistic data,Analyze the current situation and development trend of Vientiane's economic growth,especially analyze the basic situation of Vientiane,analyze the current situation of Vientiane's economic growth,including Vientiane's economic development profile,Vientiane financial industry,Vientiane government investment,domestic and foreign investment,as well as Vientiane economy Growth trend analysis.In the analysis of the economic characteristics of Vientiane,it mainly analyzes import and export trade,foreign direct investment,labor force and tourism.(3)The author reviews the theoretical basis of economic growth,summarizes the relevant concepts and theories on economic growth,the transmission mechanism of economic growth factors,and other theoretical support for the further study of the thesis.In addition,in the analysis of the influencing factors of Vientiane's economic growth,the main analysis is that impact on the economic growth of Vientiane in export,foreign direct investment,labor force and tourism.(4)On the basis of the theoretical framework,this paper further studies the influencing factors of Vientiane's economic growth by means of cointegration analysis,granger causality test and error correction model,mainly from the import and export trade,foreign direct investment,labor force and tourism related econometric model to analyze.Based on the previous theoretical and empirical research that influencing factors of Vientiane's economic growth,the suggestions on the future economic growth of Vientiane are put forward.It can be used as a relevant researcher,policy-maker,and investors' references.
