Trade in service is frequently chosen as a topic in international trade study by scholars,and emerging economies with high economy growth are also the concern of the academia.With the further development of the global value chain,the trade economists and policy makers have currently realized that the official trade statistics based on the total value calculation are serious deficiencies.They can't reflect the actual situation of international trade based on the global value chain.At the same time,all kinds of official international statistical agencies become fully aware the significance of establishing new trade statistics law on the basis of the added value,which means it need to adopt a new method to measure the international trade flow under the background of global production fragmentation.Based on the WTO and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development(OECD)trade in value added(TiVA)database,this article analyze the trade in value added in 11 service trade categories between 2000 and 2011 of eight representative emerging economies including China on the five continent.The added value trade data are switched to Net Export Revealed Comparative Advantage Index(NRCA)to compare the comparative advantage of trade in services in each country from horizontal and vertical perspective.This article not only vertically analyses each country's comparative advantage in these eight countries between 2000 and 2011,but also compares them with some developed countries in the world whose service trade volume is top-ranking.Through comparison,this article shows the differences of comparative advantage in service industry between the eight countries and developed countries.Combined with the NRCA and Trade Competitiveness(TC)Index,this article gives a comprehensive measurement and evaluation to the comparative advantage of the eight countries.In the new round of economic globalization characterized by global value chain,trade in service between different countries is more strongly linked.Service resources are distributed to the country with most comparative advantage.Under this background,comparative advantages and disadvantages of trade in services industry of the eight countries can be judged through the study and analysis of each industry's NRCA.It will give advance to full play their expertise in the field of trade in service,to provide reference of how to take good use of unprecedented opportunities to the develop trade in service.
