Elevator industry is now in a quick growth in China,but with the increasing number of portfolio and companies,the competition is getting even more intense and safety-quality management still need to improve.These defects are throughout whole process such as design,manufacturing,installation,maintenance,using and government supervision,and they have directly resulted in frequent elevator accidents these years.As the leader company of the industry,Otis Elevator does always putting safety as its most core and prioritized value.OFAR team was set up by Otis as an internal safety-quality control process to monitor and track field issues,also built a communication and feedback channel with factory and customer to create a virtuous cycle by cooperation with all parties.The scope of this thesis will be on elevator company internal field management,start from general status and common issues that the industry currently have,then will introduce OFAR team and its great contribution to Otis field safety-quality management.However,there are still many opportunities existed to make OFAR more effective.The second half of this thesis will work on each opportunity and develop solutions by using LEAN principles.Purpose is to further enhance the OFAR contribution to field safety-quality management by cost reduction and process optimization.
