A Study On Economic Effects Of The Tourism Industry Of Shannxi Province

Since 2010,our national economy present new normal,that is gradually slowing economic growth and downward pressure on economic growth.As representative of new tertiary industry,tourism plays an important role in transforming the mode of economic growth,optimizing and upgrading the industrial structure.In recent years,with the rapid growth of tourism industry,it is labeled strategic pillar industry and forerunner industry.Whether tourism industry can be new engine of economic growth is a hot topic.Compared with other province in eastern region,the industry structure in Shannxi province is unreasonable,the percentage of secondary industry is higher,the tertiary industry is not mature,but tourism industry develops in good trend.In 2016,the total revenue of tourism is 381.34 billion,the total number of tourism is 449 million,the tourism economy increased 26.9%,which is much more than regional economic growth.The percentage of tourism income on regional GDP is ascend steadily.In this background,a study on economic effects of tourism industry in Shannxi province make sense.This paper is on the basis of econometric,collects related data form statistical yearbook of Shannxi province and China tourism statistic yearbook,and made an study on the economic effects of tourism industry of Shannxi province by using co-integration test,Granger causality test,impulse response and variance analysis.The result indicates that there is a co-integration relationship between tourism industry and economic growth,economic growth can promote tourism industry remarkably,and tourism industry can promote economic growth obviously too,there is two-way causal relationship between them,the revenue effect of tourism is obvious;tourism foreign exchange can promote economic growth remarkably,but economic growth can not promote tourism foreign exchange,there is one-way causal relationship between them,the foreign exchange effect of tourism is remarkable;tourism industry can promote the employment on tertiary industry to some extent,the tourism industry can exert employment effect to an extent.Shannxi province should regard tourism industry as pillar industry,expand international popularity by seizing the one belt and one road opportunity,and consummate the construction of related industry,give full play to tourism economic effect,and cultivate tourism a new engine on economic growth.
