Study On Investment Banking Business Of The Shanghai Pudong Development Bank

With the marketization of interest rate and the increasing trend of commercial bank disintermediation,a new profit growth point represented by investment banking becomes the strategic transformation of commercial bank.Within the scope of the policy the investment banking business carried out by commercial banks will play an important role for the internal consistency to fitting into the capital market and monetary market demand,meeting the demand of market diversified financial services,and enhancing the competition power of commercial Banks.However,investment banking business which is a new industry with the mystery lacking of systematic and complete theoretical basis and guidance method is still in the initial stage in China.Nowadays domestic and foreign banks are racing to grab in the Chinese market for the investment bank business is in a special period with loose external environment and good policy.Herein,in order to broaden the development space and enhance marker competitiveness of commercial bank in China,it is important to have a scientific and reasonable development strategy to cope with the challenges.This paper chooses Shanghai Pudong Development Bank(Hereinafter referred to as "SPDB")as the research subject mainly because that the investment banking business of SPDB has developed rapidly in recent years relying on the traditional advantage project loans.Meanwhile,the investment banking business carried out by SPDB is lacking of innovation and not outstanding neither.In the competitive environment,SPDB is facing with the bottleneck problems of improving development speed and highlighting the core competitiveness.Researching and solving the problems has an important significance for SPDB to change the pattern of economic growth and business development.As an employee in SPDB for more than three years,the author did the exploring research of the investment banking business combined with her own working experience.
